Curtis did 600,000 the first week, and i get money was a big hit

compared to like what 12x platinum and 10x platinum?

that's a steep fall

it'd be a success if that's what he was doin from the jump

but the massacre went platinum in like 5 days

He doesn't "need" anyone. But I agree that Roc Nation and Jayz are not doing enough to promote Workout.

yeah if he was a local rapper not an artist signed to a major label deal , his music is not polished enough. He is still very raw .

thats the only thing he can do well and he overrated , he isn't a good producer if you compared him to all the producers in the industry he would be bottom of the barrel . Being a above average rapper for this era and a mediocre to bad producer is not mixxie

J. Cole would be a weird fit to MMG..... I can't imagine him being on the cover of "Self-Made".. shit look too awkward.

I thought the same thing about Wale at first, but look where we are now. The hustle, the charisma, the togetherness all things that MMG incorporates and just so happens to be the key ingredients Cole is missing currently.

If I was Cole I'd be trying my hardest to get over there with Ross them, or at least surround yourself with them because they are about the music.......music that is true to them with NO compromises. I can tell you this, its no way in hell Ross woulda let Cole drop that garbage Work Out track as a first single.

Y'all gon see, just wait until you hear Wale, Meek, and Pill first singles. Its about being organic, making music from the SOUL no artificial overprocessed shit that will sell to the most ppl. I get that vibe listening to Cole that he wants to stay true to himself......MMG would be a perfect fit for him.

being an above average rapper has worked for many in this era yet you're saying that's a detriment for cole's career? he aint the best producer out but all he has for him is that he may improve with time.

did you read my post i said thats the only thing he can do well. if he was using other people's production that would work just be a rapper don't try to produce, let other people do that.

honestly i thought Wale goes well together with the whole MMG look.. I think Ross hand picks certain artists to get on with him cause of the look he's trying to portray (and i'm not only saying b/c of that) somebody said on here, Wale looks like an artist that is very versatile.

i understand the whole making music from the soul and the heart and shit like that. Then again... J. Cole raps about different topics, that nigga was on the track "Fitted Cap" on Self Made... i can't imagine dude being on a track like "600 Benz" or "I'm A Boss"

he could take a lot from that team for direction and promotion... Even though he's behind a nigga that's been platinum since 1996.

He would look good under GOOD MUSIC... but I think Jay needs to help dude out.

True. I mean the only reason I don't like him on GOOD is because of Kanye, to a certain extent I think those two kinda occupy the same lane(although Kanye does it a lot better). He'd become a ghost writer if he ended up over there.

and that's the thing.. if he's under Kanye, Cole gon look like a "College Graduated kanye" that's basically the only difference, Kanye does it better cause he knows
how to utilize that lane to an major appeal and he expanded from there.

one of the MAJOR MAJOR example of this is J. Cole's Single...... "Work out"
Kanye's what... third single from the CD was "Kanye's Workout plan"..
this nigga used that sample and just made a crappy song...

J. Cole has his lane... he just needs to utilize to his advantage.. because he has that mainstream appeal going on.

and a great debut album.... dudes shouldn't be thinking his going to drop a classic duet like Nas did...
how many rappers you know in this time of day dropping debut classics like Nas...
