Most rapper do it for the money and not the love of music . When you love music you work at your craft at all cost . If Rappers look at Hip Hop more as art form and not a check you will have more Kanye's and 3Stacks etc .

good example. i understand some don't have the talent but the ear thing is difficult for me to get with. if you love it, you practice and go for every aspect of the culture.

But for some niggas, no matter how much you produce, your not gonna have that innate ability for picking samples, and overall putting shit together..

But honestly what do u expect from Hip Hop . From the beginning beats were sampled from other great music , or techno beats or even Go Go beats . There was never and emphasis on MUSICAL creativity outside of the lyrics . If Hip Hop was more like Soul and Rock where u had to create the Music/beat from scratch that would facilitate more musicians and artist in Hip Hop but that never was really the case

You can still compose beats and get very creative, and every genre samples hip hop takes good or bad music and transforms it. You can portray so much off of a sample thats the beauty of it.

I agree but why not stive for more . Be the person that an Artist samples from instead of the person looking for the perfect sample

Dont get me wrong there is nothing wring with sampling but if there was more musicianship and instrumentation as a whole the music quality would be so much better

Yes it happens now . But only a handful of artist. What I am sayin is that if the genre as a whole would implement more instrumentation and musicianship along with the samples or maybe sometime without . The quality as a whole will rise .

Most niggas just dont have the ear or the skill though...

^^^^^ This along with the lack of patience to learn. A shame too. Producer's and sound engineer's make a killing off the industry, rappers especially, I hear. They could save lots of money by learning it themselves. Along with make lots of money as well. As well as gain even more control over their sound.
