You need to grow up my man. You sound like a little kid. It doesn't take courage or bravery to diss someone on a record, especially when everyone knows that it's just a publicity stunt. You seem to be impressed by tough-talk or rappers selling wolf tickets and that points to your immaturity or ignorance. I'm not. I just wasn't impressed by Game's brief "F Jay Z" campaign. I didn't feel like it took "heart" for him to go in the booth and make a Jay Z diss record knowing that he has no real problems with Jay Z and was only pulling the stunt in hopes of boosting his fading career. On the same token, I don't feel like Jay Z's decision to basically ignore Game was "cowardly". I thought that Jay Z handled the situation perfectly, and that's evident by how Game had to abandon the stunt once it was clear that the public wasn't behind him. We don't need that BS in HipHop. There's nothing wrong with battling and no rapper is above battling, but there's a difference between battling and "beef". "Beef" in HipHop is currently WWE status, meaning it's not real. I don't respect these fake "beefs" or the artists who pull those kind of stunts. Out of all the people who have came out dissing Jay Z in hopes of starting one of these publicity seeking "battles", noone has attempted to challenge Jay Z with the intent of proving that they are the better MC. Everybody that has come out and dissed Jay Z has done so for the publicity.

Seriously, the idea that it's courageous to call out the next man's man on a record or that it's cowardly to ignore the people who pull those stunts, is sad to me. In my opinion, it's fans like you have things messed up.

Damn you Jay Hovas witness got every excuse in the book for Jigga to go against the spirit and nature of HipHop. It is fans like you who do not understand the soul and fundamentals of the game and are more pop fans then actual HipHop heads, particularly when your an aliases just hopping in with your new account to Stan...

WRONG

Mos Def called that nigga out on Angie Martinez with a formal challenge. himself and a team of a few others against Jay and a team of a few others. "a battle for rap supremacy" was the term he used if i remember correctly. his whole thing was, he feels just like the people in this thread... if you're going to claim you're the best, you have to fight for it. you cant just anoint yourself and not be willing to go to battle.

he also said it'd be a festival or an event for charity, but the point is, Jay was on Angie either later that day or the next and didnt say shit. c'mon son.

sure, its a daydreamers idea, but it was one that was formally issued nonetheless. and don't say it was to get publicity because outside of his core fanbase, no one is buying a Mos Def album, controversy or not. word.

and just because someone disses you, that doesnt mean you have to devote all of your energy into constructing some 10 minute meandering response a la Game. if you feel a nigga is beneath you, you should be able to throw a dart and put them in their place in no more than a few bars.

i dont want to make this a Jay Z thing because he isnt the only offender, but it makes no sense that this nigga can send shots at Cam & Dirt Angel Jimmy [with whole tracks nonetheless, "Dig A Hole" & "Brooklyn High"] but wont go in on Game because he thinks Game is beneath him. thats ass backwards.

True shit well said and your Right Hov is not the only offender it is a problem in the game as a whole as you can see by a lot of the stans responses they do not get the competive nature part of HipHop anymore they have given up on the core values that the pillars were composed of and are now just pop fans and to quote the generic ass Mantra "Just want to be entertained by Good Music". But they respond in legion when the truth of the matter is most of these kats who are avoiding battle are doing so because they know they will probably lose...

Again I am tlaking about battles on wax type beef not the stomp your homies outside wherever beefs that seem to be happening from those lacking lyrical prowress...

lol at niggas tryna recreate Takeova vs Ether 10 years later, truth of the matter is Jay and Nas beef had history behind it and they were heading towards a clash at the top anyways. Game and Jay have no type of history and careers are no where near the same level neither is 50 cent; those dudes were reaching for straws tryna start beef. That's why the fans saw through that shit with the quickness.

exactly nas n jay came in at the same time.. big died. the crown was up for the taking. and thats only ONE reason that was the greatest "beef" with the greatest diss songs... just like game vs g-unit was a great "beef" becuz they were boys they made n sold millions together then they went at eachother so hard... i personally would respond to any diss track jus to show niggaz they cant fuck wit me n if they try to then imma kill their careers. like 50. the reason jay losin so much respect is cuz he lets niggaz shit on him now n he thinks cuz he super rich it makes up for lettn niggaz talk bad on ur name... idk if its gonna ruin his legacy or wat but if u respect urself n got pride and confidence in wat u do then u should respond to any1... idc if its 20 bucks or 2 million u dont take shit from me ya dig

I don't know about you but if you stepped up and called a emcee out back in the day whether you being a rookie or a seasoned vet, you were gonna hear a response whether a couple bars, a 3rd verse or a full fledged attack. Trust me, us fans paid attention to every track and when we heard something foul going against a person, we expected to hear it addressed. You were not allowed to pull a JaRule and act like you were too big to rep. Where is that nigga at now anyway ? Nigga was in top of the food chain until 50 started fucking with him. Every fan even if you didn't lime ja, wanted to hear him protect himself and Murder Inc. When he didn't in a timely fashion, his career stalled. MC hammer came in the game calling rappers out but when he was #1 he didn't protect his name from the onslaught. Biggies stock fell for not

truly answering 2Pac and we all know it. Stop frontin' !! Beanie responding to Jadakiss raised his stock, who knew that nigga had it in him !!

Jay just feels he is past this shit. I agree sometimes with not even entertaining some of these rappers. Beanie seems like someone he would respond to though. it seems more personal.

right. i was having this same convo with some other cats, and somebody said, if you diss a 44 year old Lawrence "KRS 1" Parker, even if you're some obscure bum with a Facebook music page, you're gonna find a response in your email the next day lol and thats real

Concerning Jay, he was involved in the second biggest rap beef of all time, I wouldn't say that him not dissing somebody is cowardly anymore after Takeover and Blueprint 2. Nas is a lyricist too, so it's not like Jay was just beating up the little dudes. When you've been there, done that you don't really need to respond to beefs.

Plus Jay's too old, once you reach that age that petty shit doesn't concern you anymore. Dude's 40 something, he's worried about when his Life Alert watch is going to come in the mail, not Beans.

This isn't a new account, my history must've been erased during the hiatus. Regardless, I'n no Stan my man and it's no need to resort to pettty name calling. Stop pretending that this is about "the spirit and nature of HipHop". Game dissing Jay Z was a publicity stunt, pure and simple. You threw the Stan thing at me but Game is a true to lide Jay Z Stan. Why should anyone take him dissing Jay Z seriously? Besdides, Jay Z has responded to Game. He touched him on Prelude from KC and that Dear Summer freestyle. Why are you ignoring that?

I wasn't including Mos Def in the guys that I was referring to. I agree that Mos Def issued a respectful challenge even though the idea that Jay Z would accept it was unrealistic. Who besides Mos Def came at him correctly though? I think that my point still remains, no?

Do you really think that Jay Z was obligated to accept that challenge? Do you think that Mos Def is obligated to prove himself against any and every person that might call him out?

So is this safe to say this thread was a undercover Jay-z thread? lol Dude is like the bane of some of you dudes existence, niggas either really love dude or hate him for what he represents. I guess Biggie would of been going through the same shit if he was alive; Game is the equivallent to them Wu niggas. Straight haters.

Jay has more history with Cam and Jimmy tho. Remember, they were dissin jay on Dames behalf pretty much.

Jay commented on that in his last XXL interview. IIRC, I don't think he saw it as a "friendly match" and viewed as a "nigga throwing shots" comment. He said something to the effect of "Mos has been hanging around with Dame, so who knows what's going on there" which I thought was kind of bitch made for Jay to assume everybody that associates with Dame has it in for him.
