That's why he is touring, you build fans through touring and that spreads word of mouth, haven't you learned shit from all these niggas with these big ass singles and then their albums come out and not do shit. He has been on the road touring BP3, Drake Tour, and BET tour, so it takes time to get studio time. He said he is pretty much done, 90% and is deciding who he wants to put on this hook for the song of the upcoming single (word is Trey Songz).

Word? I'll look forward to it man. I'm rootin for Cole, I'm just questioning the route he's been taking.

let niggas on the net tell it, he's "building a steady fanbase that won't leave him and will buy his album and blah blah blah"
but to niggas outside the net he's non existent

Oh word, and you can read the minds and thoughts of 300 mil Americans???????????????

illmatic took 2 years to make
it is a classic
not saying that he will drop an illmatic
but it takes time to make quality music

it take 2 years to make 8 songs for real. and 2 out the eight weren't that good

Either way, whether he's hot at the moment or not, I WILL be purchasing his debut album. I would have gladly paid for FNL.

The route he is taking is the route Pac, Jay, Nas, etc took. The slow and steady route, the pop off fast and burn out 4 albums in (50, Nelly, etc), blowing up too fast can be a detriment to your career as a artist!

honestly rappers shouldn't release more than four albums

1st, what's the rush? He just dropped one of the hottest mixtapes a lil while back so it's not like we hurtin for new J.Cole shit
2nd, If you're worried about his sales....Why? Yall some aspiring A&R's or some shit? What's the deal?
3rd, Niggas is actin like buzz is a once in a lifetime thing that can't be rebuilt by dropping another mixtape or a few hard singles.

I'm not sure about how long will it be before his buzz runs out but either way I'm buying the album when it drops. I just hope it's sooner then later.

Honestly, I'm 19, and you'd be surprised at how many of my age mates listen to this dude. I really thought I was the only one up on him. A lot of my friends who are in to Gucci, Wocka, and Wayne who you would NOT expect to listen to Cole are avid fans. I was extremely surprised a couple of weeks back at a barber shop when I saw some high school kids listening to Friday Night Lights. Don't sleep on Cole, man
