Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon has branded his Shockwaves NME Awards rival Jay-Z as “nonsense” and a “parody”.

The pair are both nominated in the Best Book category this year, Lydon for Mr Rotten’s Scrapbook and Jay-Z for Decoded.

Asked by NME if he was a fan of the rapper, Lydon replied: “Come on! I’m afraid what he does is parody to me. Jay-Z’s just nonsense.”

He added: “I’ve never met him, but twice I’ve had to play a stage opposite when he was on. One was in Coachella and one was in Poland, and both times I pulled an enormous crowd away from him. He certainly must have noticed.”

this is true because of supply and demand in the market for em. Jay Z been toured and hit many cities 2 or 3 times in the past 2 years that the demand is down for HOV because he has reached to many cities. Em hasn't consistently toured lately and there is a high demand to see him live. He could have sold out ant stadium in a major city by himself. Especally when every major city has a large suburb full of white em fans so even if the bronx wasn't huge fans of em he would get suburban crowds with more money willing to pay anything for tickets to go to venues and sell them out. Weezy depends on the same suburban white people when he comes up north.

Jay Elec didn't sign with Roc Nation until like the very end of 2010. He had already been on milk carton status. How many times do we have to tell you niggas J. Cole said that he is taking his time with his album?
