Is Eminem a considered a legend to black rsp fans

He is a hip hop legend based on sales alone.

I'm personally not a fan, but I won't let my bias against him cloud reality.

I've said before, I believe the term legend is thrown around too easily. Should we consider Vanilla Ice a legend since he sold 11 million off is one album? ? Is 50 a legend?? MC Hammer?? Ja Rule?? Or were these people just the hottest rapper during their time??

Eminem has never really resonated with african americans collectively, the source of rap music. His gimmick has been being a white rapper in a predominently black industry that said shocking shit at the time. Can he rap?? Absolutely.

Does he have a classic?? Maybe MMLP. Maybe. Is his music still held in high regard outside of lose yourself?? Has anyone outside his hardcore, mostly white audience bumped an entire album of his in 5 years?? If not, is he a legend or a hot rapper that faded out?? Em suffered from being an animated rapper without much substance. The conversation would be different if all his songs were as deep as lose yourself, stan, etc. Niggas still listening to him fantasize about killing kim??

Eminem is a legend because he sold a lot of records.

Kool G Rap is a legend because of his magnificent flow regardless of how many records he sold.

There's scores of MCs that are legends that didn't sell as many records as Eminem.

@GunTown nobody gives af abt singing rappers in hip hop except u bitch

Sn: saw fetty wap perform live without autotune shit was as terrible as ya posting

Believe it or not, sales do matter in legendary talk.

In 50 - 100 years when talk of hip hop takes place, Eminem's name will be brought up and his record sales within our art form will be mentioned.

The one white boy that came in our culture and became the best selling rapper of all time and the second best selling solo artist of all time behind Garth Brooks.

43 million albums cannot be easily reproduced. The way of the world means a white boy can use hip hop to do this. White privilege.

And he only managed this by directly appealing to the WW pop audience by sending shots at popular artist of that particular time. White people found it amusing. More white privilege.

Please remember, a black rapper couldn't go at Britney Spears and Taylor Swifts without a major backlash and probably ending his/her career.

I can't get into Eminem, but he couldn't have managed it if he couldn't hold his own as a rapper.

The boy can rap, he's white and he found a way into pop culture.

Ain't na nigga I kno fuks w/ Masta Albino aka MC Miracle Whip :bawling:

Wigga was skilled as an MC, & he had some piff features & good (SSLP) to very good (MMLP, TES) jawns in the late 90's-early 00's, but post-TES he's about as captivating as a used tampon :bawling:

Wigga makes god awful, meth addict McDonald's music for trailer park thots & pathetic coons & has fallen off worse than any rapper he came up w/ & maybe any rapper ever :bawling:

@ this pt a link to an Em song might as well be a link to gay porn for how quickly I skip over that shit & pretend I never seen it :bawling:

Man, musically Eminem is wack. What scenario would you even play his music.

In the crib chilling or cleaning up?

NOPE

Riding solo late night cruising on the highway?

Not at all

With the homies?

Nah son.

With ya girl going to see a movie?

Fuck no.

The club?

Negro please.

As a teenager, I was rocking with him. As an adult at 30, going back to listen to his shit now, his music is just corny. SNL like corny, cringe worthy. Definitely all the pop artist disses. He gets no fuckin props for that. Yall crown him for that bullshit. Skill set wise, he's up there. He can rap. But I hate rapping ass rappers.

NOT A LEGEND.

"I don't like his music personally... none of my friends listen to him... but since he sold a lot of records, I'll agree to call him a legend"...

Yeah but not as high as his white washed fanbase thinks.

Eminem has had a Charlie Sheen-ish career. He did some things, cause some scandals, but he really never had a classic movie.

to the people who go outside hes had classic albums

dumb nigga logic like this killed the IC

Imo as a black man I have no problem calling him a legend....I wouldn't call him a goat tho but to say he ain't a legend is just hate

Before Eminem who was rapping/singing about regular everyday average person issues like parenting, depression, family troubles, welfare backround, love, marriage

Then u have other regular content rappers rapping/singing about the same content like Kid Cudi, B.o.B

Never heard of 2pac what about all the countless rappers that came before him that did the same/similar thing
