you CANNOT deny his lyrical skills. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest lyricists ever. Questionable subject matter but extremely talented.

Eminem is UNDERRATED....in the IC at least. Em has crazy wordplay, his flow is among the best in hip-hop history, and while his subject matter is rather grotesque most of the time, so is this crazy thing we call life. Life is fucked up, so Eminem's lyrics are going to be fucked up. It is what it is....Eminem is a top 4 rapper of all time as far as I'm concerned.

Lyrically Em is hyperskilled.. That cypher he was in on the BET awards in 09 really reminded me of where he came from and what he really can do.. Gotta give dude his props.. I think he falls off when he tries to do songs that are too commercial..

You can't deny his skill but when you look at his skill you also have to look at his subject matter. Alot of the time he rhymes 2 stupid and unrelated words just because they flow well together. This brings him down a couple levels to me because even though he can rhyme and flow his ass off, He comes off sometimes as just a "rappin ass wigga". I can't put him in front of Emcees like Nas that can flesh out a whole story while keeping it consistent lyrically. I can't put him in front of a Emcee like Jay-Z because he hits you with his wittiness and double entendres all the while keeping it lyrical and sensible. Also, he isn't the type of rapper I can throw on when me and my niggas light a L, while I got a chick around or nothing because of his off the wall shit. When the last time you heard a car blasting eminem? He's headphone music. Is Eminem overrated? To me, just a little but you can't deny his skill.
