so its safe to say i won

go listen to only built for cuban linx by raekwon

on the intro ... even he said " its not like im gonna be sittin on 200 thou, acting like im gonna be a drug dealer all my life son, I GOT BIGGER AND BETTER PLANS"

LOL

think of how many rappers who are now broke that once made 200k in 10 - 15 live shows

a person who makes only 20k per year will make that dough in 10 years .... so if you have 200k you'd have to live like a person that works at mcdonalds for ten years LOLOL

The context of this thread came from a statement that $200k would have a woman and her child "set for life", which is when people were like that isnt a lot of money.

I can tell u broke and living with ur parents by the look of ur pic.

Is $200,000 A Lot Of Money? I Said Yes, Uptown Said No. What You Think?

Yeah I view it as a nice chunk of paper, especially if it's not taxed... But it also depends on what you need to do with it, cause if you going to purchase a house then that's pretty much all your money righ'thur, but if you getting straight 200,000 and it's just ball out money on small shit (shoes, clothes, vacation, electronics, etc) then I consider it a alot of money

Is the $200,000 tax free?

$200,000 is a substanial amount of money..

I think something that needs to be considered is where you live at, which is really relevant to whether or not $200,000 is alot of money or not..

some areas have a lower cost of living compared to other places.

200,000 is a substantial amount of money, i doubt most of you have ever seen that amount of money in bulk.

Buncha nggas full of shyt here.

Let me say this: I work in DC, and i swear im not tryin to 'stunt', but id venture to say i make a good amount of money.

200k is a lot of money.

We not talkin like its the ONLY money u got, we talkin if in additional to where u at now!

If you can afford to live comfortably and buy a house right now, why would you scoff at $200k more?

Think about what you sayin homie

200k gets mentioned and your first reference point is rappers going broke?

Do you not see the problem in that?

Is it a lot of money? In a lump sum it could be...the problem is the assumption most people would get that money and then start living as if they're making 200K a year...for those who wouldn't then it'd last a good while and most likely be used to make them even more money...it's nowhere near enough to allow someone to sit on their ass and not work anymore, but it can be a damn good start to building something big...

nah.. i aint on that level yet.. will get there though.. and some of the pieces iv seen.. 200k can easily be spent on the living room. lol

dunno if uv been following the entire thread.. or what lead up to the thread even bein made.. but dude was actin like u come up on 200k and u aint gotta work another day in ur life.. kids either.. and im jus sayin thats farthest from the truth..

u work a good job ull go through 200k in 3 or 4 years top.. that shit aint "for life"..

Bruh you speakin to a majority of college kids and dudes under 25...essentially sayin 'nah nah na nah nah' about ya money...and it s HILARIOUS

But to a ngga like ME, we dont compare ourselves to college kids smh how bout you compare yaself to your peers...and if u the 'wealthiest' ngga u know you doin somehtin wrong lmao.

At WORST...if its realy nothin...200k is a years salary, and you can just take a year off and do whatever the fuk u want

If you can not, and your happy ass will be wakin up every mornin to work, to continue to PAY OFF house notes and your Louie belt purchases...200k is a lot of money...always has been, always will be

I have a real life example of makin $200k:

A friend of mine signed a contract to work in Iraq for 2 years-175k/yr

Ngga went from makin about 60k to 175k...this nggas whole life done changed lol

In essence, goin from 65-175k for 2 years is like gettin 200k

And yall gon tell me $200k 'aint really a lot of money'??? GTFOH

I think the main point that will determine if it's alot of money is how do you spend it...if you're somone like Cap B who values certain material things, then no it wouldn't be...if you're someone who doesn't put alot of value into clothes, cars, etc.. and could care less then that 200K could and probably would last longer...it really boils down to the spending habits of the person being given the money...I know people who don't have to worry about money and can make $20 last a week and people who go day to day spending $40-50 w/ no idea where the money for tomorrow will come from...
