He mortally wounded Darkseid's avatar in that story (Dan Turpin) with a god killing bullet. Making it easier for the Flashes (Barry and Wally) to bring the Black Racer (New Gods version of Death) in Darkseid's direction to further weaken Darkseid. To the point that Wonder Woman could then exorcise Darkseid's essence from the avatar and then Superman could destroy Darkseid's essence by channeling a special frequency.
So the collective efforts of the Justice League and not just Batman killed Darkseid. Huge difference.

The flash will bring some legendary prep Time weapons to the past for young bats. Fuck it, he ll bring the damn Bat plane and whatever the hell is needed to contain Thanos
so when pre IG Thanos steps in his helicopter to fly away(lol), young bats will trap that mofo and send him to Darkseids Home planet, making him Darkseids bitch for all eternity.

All I know is I'm way more unstoppable than juggernaut, way stronger than the hulk and superman, faster than the flash even going in time speed, more potent the all of the infinite gems together, and more omnipotent and omniscient than Lucien but I can't fuck with the Bats. Just because he used a helicopter doesn't make him weak. He cannot fly till this day. He uses a teleporting chair even after all his power ups. That has no bearing on his abilities so that's fail.
Secondly, prep time doesn't give the character cosmic awareness or anything. Batman wouldn't know he is from the 616 universe so flash going back in the D.C. universe would mean nothing.
