... I do agree on some level that a lot of these older (and dead) rappers get put on a pedestal. I agree Big Pun is hella wack, Biggie is overrated, KRS-One is average, DMC is average etc.

I would give LL the GOAT title before Rakim and well before I even think of Kool G Rap.
I have debates about this subject all the time, the opinion is half ass tho. from raps begening before it was part of the music there have been wack, average, and above average rappers. run was "better" than DMC but can you dig him without DMC? pun was above average, but not better than BIG. anyways them niggas was the first ones..kanye, jay, nas, and wayne didnt come out the beast they are today. why should they get more credit in the lyrical catagory? they made rap what it is today, but only after the ol heads raised the bar to a certin level.
