The trayvon case and chicago situation is 2 different things and should not be compared. Put an admitted child killer on the stand and I bet he's convicted and warehoused. I've been to chicago and have seen the police operate, not only would they have gotten a murder confession out of zimmerman (by any means necessary) but also a few other misc. murders around the area. People just bring up the violence in chicago to justify them not giving a fuck about black life, themselves. Black people semi unite around something and it's still a problem. smh. Also, it's not that he was killed, it's how he was killed. If Trayvon was out doin dumb nigga shit, wouldn't nobody bat an eye. Dude was walking home with candy talking to girls on the phone. But as far no one being this up in arms when niggas kill niggas, I had this same convo the other day with a friend. Niggas ain't up in arms and hostile cuz GZ killed TM. I will say this... they did say that the jury was taking notes.. so half of this shyt the defense is doing is hearsay that is jus " smokes n mirrors" 2 the shyt at hand.. so when they deliberate I think most of it should even out..

If nothing else, he is surely right about one thing: the riots in the 60s did serious harm to black people. For decades to come.

But he may be right about some other things too. For example, he may be right about the legal facts.

But I still think we have a right to be upset. There are legal arguments, and then there are moral arguments. Morally speaking I think Zimmerman is culpable for what he did, even though at the moment he shot him he may have genuinely felt that his life was life was in danger. (I have not been following the trial though.)

The Stand Your Ground law needs to change, at the very least to make some exceptions in which its self-defense provision doesn't apply. Otherwise, it risks legally sanctioning what should be considered murder. For example, say that Mr. X has beef with Mr. Y, and decides to kill him. Thinking of a way to kill him while escaping a murder charge, he decides to start a fight with Mr. Y, intentionally loses it, and then takes out his gun and shoots just when he thinks he can make a convincing case that he thought his life was in danger. This can't be right.

The physical evidence more than supports Zimmermans account of events.... Trayvon assaulted Zimmerman, Zimmeramn shot in self defense. case closed.

IF Trayvon didn't attack, he would have not been killed by his own doing... I blame his parents for not teaching him that it is wrong to attack people smaller than himself because they might be armed.
