ok I get it, u don't like black Americans, but not all Africans are like u so your opinion is just that. and its a biased, ignorant, not accurate one to be clear. like I said, I got Africans in my family that can go back to South Africa whenever they want. people of African descent are everywhere, the fact that u don't like certain elements means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

South Africa is the shit, my friend. When I was there, I never wanted to leave. People seemed more intimate and honest.

It is sad how people have a misconception of African people. The truth is that since America is a continent, it isn't a country. So that would mean that technically, every Black person in this country is still considered to be African. People still want no connection with Africa, thinking it's still a bunch of jungle and backwards ass people. That's ignorance at it's finest.

Also, getting back to the thread, just because you're from the hood doesn't mean that you have any self-love or self-esteem about being Black. It just means that you live in the hood. *shrugs*

it all goes in a circle man. u kill the niggas up top and the guys under them will take their positions. people use drugs and rely on suppliers...same as the prostitues.

Wow, I don't even have the time to fully type out how dead on you are with this post, so I'll just give you an e-round of applause. The entire fucking community dropped the ball, and sat back while this poison was being spread around, a lot of those in position to help out just bounced to the burbs. The thing now is how do we fix it......

we can fix it by organizing the people in the & INTO key positions to work towards a common goal that alleviates greed. everybody is not going to rock with that but the ones who do can build a relationship with those on the ground level. an effective pipeline between those in the city & the burbs can be built.

It damn sure is, that's why I made sure to say I put my money where my mouth is, and when I'm in the States I donate my time. We as a people don't have the sense of community any more though. It's every Man for himself, so if you have to add to the decline in your community by selling drugs, just so you can get the hottest car with 26 inch rims then so be it. Fuck everybody else, that's the mind frame we are dealing with today. The use, and selling of has played a huge factor that as well.

o so u cosigning his bullshit. that every man for himself came from Y'ALL. if we had not suffered a brain drain in Detroit we could have rebuilt. it's not the drug dealers fault that u guys would rather follow whites than lead your own.

I've seen a lot of great solutions

Me, I believe that donating time, not money, to fix black communities will work because it allows us to directly have an impact

I'm talking mentoring kids, volunteering for community outreach programs, etc

you gotta start with the kids, alot of the adults are already fucked up just being honest

but yeah go to the route of the problem and give the kids something to do to keep them off of the street

give them a goal that's bigger than just being "the shit" around your neighborhood

you be "the shit" around the world ya feel me?

alot of these kids don't know any better and get caught up before they know it

teach niggas how to run a business instead of corner, take those same skills and apply them to something that will benefit in the long run

I actually talk to lil niggas around my way and drop gems on them and niggas respect it because they know I am/was them

these kids don't have anybody that believes in them because everybody is so quick to turn thier back on so called " troubled youth"

lil niggas is crying out for help and aint nobody listening to them

yall don't hear me tho

ok I'm done ranting for the day

If you really wanna do good for your community be the best that you can be and help those closest to you. Be proactive instead of reactive. Wealth doesn't comes through money but through the sharing of knowledge. There are lots of healthy middle to upper middle class black neighborhoods in this country that have been around for ages. They didn't come about without sacrifice. The problem is the wrong knowledge is broadcasting throughout many of the poorer black neighborhoods in America. A culture of dependency and inferiority is widespread and glorified through politics and entertainment. Until tougher laws are put in place and higher expectations are set by leaders and people living in troubled areas the poorer neighborhoods will continue to be plagued by the same cycle. My city alone spends millions upon millions each year trying to revitalize troubled areas but the murders and blight remains. Money can only do so much and sometimes throwing money at the problem can even make it worse. Sometimes tough love is the best remedy.

Wow homie. Clear to speak on that a little bit more cause that statement sounds fucked up especially when drug dealers literally poison the neighborhood.

Dont blame the dealers, blame the person using the drugs. If people took on personal responsibility for their actions then many problems wouldn't arrive. Answer for drugs = dont purchase/use them and so-on

The black neighborhoods are a victim of the success from the Civil Right movement. They would still be African American homeowners under 40 y.o. staying in the hood if it wasnt for desegregation.

Mostly slept on!

Elaborate please.

Most middle class negroes ran out of the hood as soon as the invisible wall came down from the more afluent(sp) white neighborhoods. They felt that the black neighbors did not appreciate thier homes like they did. and ran to the suburbs. They left a huge void in the hoods. Less homeowners means less people that actually have a investment in the community. Renters dont appreciate what they dont own.

I see.
But the alternative is even worse, don't you think? Would you rather have segregation in place ? I hope not.

No I wouldnt but I beleive that people are keeping a blind eye to what happened and why. If we except the truth for what it is then we can come up with a better plan. Right now we mask the problems hoping no one will see its truth. And the truth is the hood is destined to fail unless you change the dynamics of it. It will never rise to its former self if it is kept the same.

why would you kill the local drug dealer who is a pawn in the bigger picture and let the people that funnel the drugs into the community live?

your idea is simplistic and not well thought out or you intentionally make stupid threads to get a lot of people to respond.

That goes back to the cycle of inferiority and dependency. It's a problem that has to be solved from the inside out. It's kinda like living in the matrix. Some niggas wake up but when they do they see that everyone else is still sleeping so aint shit else to do but bounce. That's why i look at it like if I can help myself and those in my immediate circle to be self sufficient and if others can do the same then that's a group of people not adding to the problem. Cause the black unity that existed in the past is long gone. Every black man does not share the same burdens in 2010 nor is every black neighborhood poverty stricken. There is no miracle leader that is going to change things in the blink of an eye. The president is black, my mayor is black but yet there are still a lot of black people still struggling.

umm good point but you will never really a mass the man power to really make a difference.

even on some batman shit you would prolly only make the difference on a few blocks for a short period of time.

Your better off just investing in robot technology to create androids to police the communities to ensure safety so education

and economic development can occur. but thats all fantasy

We need to legalize drugs and let the government sell that shit to the addicts at a wholesale fair market price.

They do that shit in britain and some parts of canada. This will put the drug dealers out of buisness, and all the violence

that comes with it. All the drug cartel and gangs will be severly weekend because most of their income will be gone. The same thing happened to the mob after they legalized gambling and liqour. also legalize prostitution and lot mega corporations run it

with state regulations. The prices will be so low most pimps and ho's will just leave the buisness.
