Nas won the battle and lost the war.

Rappers like 50, Cam, Jim Jones, and Jeezy all took heavy shots at him and all they got back were some subliminals.

He's been making the best and most authentic music of his career since Illmatic with: Gods Son, HHID, Untitled, & Distant Relatives and hardly anybody cares.

Why hasn't his position in rap improved if he won? Shouldn't more people be checking for him, not less?

How did Nas lose a war? the battle was about who would win between Nas and Jay, not who would have the most mainstream success.

I was just listening to Illmatic today and man, it's just amazing at how brilliant that album is. Everytime I listen to that album, I'm always noticing more clever lyrics that I never noticed the last time around. And the production, was just perfect.

Yeah, It Was Written is a good album. It was a nice follow up to Illmatic specifically because he didn't make Illmatic Part 2. Nas kept moving it foward.

LOL lets be real dude, Nas has had two dry spells in his career when he just got off peoples radar. People stop giving a fuck about him post IWW up until Stillmatic and now he has been in the same rut since God Son.

You can yap about flopping all you fucking want about Jay, but his albums and music generate interest and consistently sell, plus AMerican Gangster has been better than any fucking thing Nas has put out in the last 5 years.
