why should he be worshiped or 'obeyed'? Why should his subjective opinions be considered moral truths? Because he's more powerful than we are? In the same way that parents can be flawed and wrong, why can't an omnipotent, supernatural being be wrong?

i'll tell you why: because the bible tells us so. its 2011 and people still hanging on to every single word written by pre-historic white people. that does not makes sense but its the way of life. We live in a world where the people who run it are pretending to believe in that bullshit. the celebs. the politicians. they faking the funk for the dumb people. and the dumb people eat it up.

imo, our lives are not our own, we have no recollection of our birth, nor do we know the day of our demise. This life is temporary, i consider it to be a loan. Worship does seem to be a heavy demand, if not worship, atleast some consideration and thanks should be in order for being given the opportunity to experience this great gift. Being wrong, or flawed does not negate the appreciation due to those who have raised you, clothed you, nurtured you, and even stood by you even though you are flawed and at times wrong. there would be no such thing as perfection, if imperfection did not exist. No right if there were no wrong. No good if there were no bad.

im no christian btw, not sure what god you are referring to, as there are so many. Im speaking of the creator, which i believe there is one.

.....if god is the law and the truth...why would he not be obeyed?...u have 2 obey laws on earth...so why not the creator?...and how could u evn dare 2 compare parents(humans) 2 God?!..ur logic is flawed.....

I don't understand the idea that you owe someone respect, adoration or obedience because they created you. To seriously expect adoration or obedience from someone because you created them is beyond obnoxious and narcissistic. You created them for your own selfish reasons, it was never asked for. Regardless of how they got here, I don't see why they deserve any less respect than you do. We don't allow human parents to torture their children because they created them, children are (supposed to be) given the same basic human rights that their parents are.

I think the onus is on you to show why he should be obeyed anymore than anyone else should. Laws were created by flawed human beings, they aren't written in stone, they're open to revision because we realize that laws have often been shown to be unethical or unreasonable. Human laws have to be justified, why should God's laws be unquestionable simply because he/she/it is God?

Why should his word be considered anything other than his subjective opinion? The onus is on you (or him/her/it) to show why God's word should be accepted as an absolute truth, the same onus is on parents, the government and all other self-proclaimed authority figures to justify their claims or force/coercion. Authority doesn't validate itself.

Why are you comparing "gods'" reason with ours? If I made a paper airplane, and I truly loved this airplane, and it asked to be a car, I would turn it into a car if I had the power to do so. I would not expect to be worshiped by this paper airplane just for the sake of being worshiped.

God wants our obedience because He loves us and wants us to live after our flesh has passed. If u are not obeying Him you are obeying satan. U stand for evil. If u stand for evil you will die in spirit and you will not be close with God at the day of judgment. God wants all his children. His grace gives us the opportunity to make right with our lives in His name.

Hes not just some guy sittin on a throne bein served grapes while 3 ppl fan Him. He's being patient with the lost hoping they will invite Him and jesus into their lives.
