"If there is a god, why does he allow so much suffering"

He allows suffering because he isn't your fucking personal army.

You were made in his image. God doesn't look like a pussy so you shouldn't

ok gotcha. i dont think the allowance of suffering is the only component on which they(atheist) base their suspension of belief is it? whats really interesting , from my observance is that those who are suffering at their highest point, are the ones who hold the strongest belief in God.

The mind is one hell of a tool.

When people need to feel comfort at their highest point they believe in God "more" because they feel it will get them over this or something good will come out of it. Many non-believers when near death always state, "then I said to God, or whatever is up there ________". It's a bargain. People fear the unknown, so if there is a hell, they all fear it so they then "believe in God". It's not necessarily they have the "strongest belief", if anything it might be the weakest belief for many. I say that because they themselves aren't religious and just give that "God" a ray of hope, a shot in the dark that if it does exist it will save them or help them.

We can't avoid it. This world is molded on gods, numerous gods, it's molded on religion. So no matter who it is, if it's a rapper accepting an award or some non-believer nearing death, they're all gonna plead with god in some way because it's an unknown fear.

No, we were made in "THEIR" image, not one being but more than one.

He isn't our "personal army"? I would NEVER let my children suffer through anything, even if they're in their 30's struggling, I'd do anything to help them, even with money or a place to live. If we are God's children why isn't it allowing or doing the same?

I don't believe in a non-material 'mind', either. Consciousness is the neurological processing of electrical/chemical information.

Are you serious? Gtfoh and stfu then, non existent minds can't talk.

So God creates hurricanes and tornadoes because he's an evil vindictive asshole who has a grudge due to some people being bad. Got ya.

it(religion) is mans escape from himself. on the point of suffering, i have seen it in its extremes, prayer gives people hope, real or false, there is an energy in that. for some people, thats all they have left.
