Started going back to the gym regularly been like a month now so now it settled into a habit first time ever I actually run everytime I go to the gym I hated the treadmill

I got stronger kiND of faster than expected

But it's time to get a legit set workout

Any ideas

Took last week off from the gym due to my right knee, and taking this week off due to my condition (ulcerative proctitis) flaring up. Will kill it next week!

Could be any of a number of factors:

Reduced flexibility - stretch more

Fatigued calf muscles - the more you run the stronger your calves become. Also, try some calf strengthening exercises.

Inappropriate footwear - the right running shoes for your foot type.

Running too much, too soon

Inadequate warm-up/cool-down

Muscle imbalances elsewhere

Running form - Running with a mid foot strike alters the biomechanics of your running cycle, shortens your stride length and changes the loading on your calf muscles, as well as reducing the impact through the foot and lower leg.

It's don't even gotta be all that much. Could just be you havery shit tier run sneakers, your not running in run sneakers or your doing the worSt thing possible and running in basketball sneakers, or you have good run sneakers and they just been worn out.

If you are a dedicated runner you gotta change your sneakers every 3-6 months. Running all those miles in them wear them out and it's bad for your feet.

Yeah, I believe I mentioned inappropriate foot wear in there as well. Thanks for reiterating haha

man...had a minor setback

started calling basketball games again, and I never noticed how much of a pounding my knees were taking running up and down those cement tile courts.

My right knee was swollen like a softball

got back on the wooden courts and had NO issues

crazy
