Started riding my bike to work 2 weeks ago.. 16.6 miles at least 3 times a week. I record and track my time with the

MapMyRide app. (you can follow me on there and challenge my route and speed) and I track my calorie intake , log

my food and water with the MyFitnessPal app.

Both apps sync together which is pretty cool because I don't have to worry about entering my burned calories. It does it automatically.

So far I've done it 7 times lost more inches than weight though, but these legs are monsters. ;-)

Was able to get everything in besides pull-ups and overhead rows doing back today without any problems, just added a set and went a little harder on everything else, doubled up on the bi's as well, no slowing down

your giving me ideas but I'll probably die the way people drive around these parts, I'm about 14 miles from my job but there's no easy route there, I plan on stealing a page out of Mastery's book and hiking the great blue hills outside of Boston with weights and eventually move on up to the white mountains, been had the hiking boots and backpack ready it's just a matter of getting out there

haha! I know what you mean. Google maps has a feature that allows you to see the safest bike routes and bike lanes. my route takes me through neighborhoods pretty much the entire way. Minus a few main streets that have bike lanes.

I still stay on the sidewalk just to be sure. It's dark when I leave so I have the flashlight, helmet light and bike lights going. My rucksack is filled with my work clothes and shoes and I have my items in the locker at work to shower and change once I arrive.. so the weight in the pack adds to the workout.

I tried wearing ankle weights but it hurt my knees for some reason.

Just googled it, it's a lot of left and rights through neighborhoods, I'll drive it first see if it's manageable and try to memorize it but first things first...I have to buy a bike

LOL.. yep, you might need that. =)

My issue, unbenounced to some, is not eating enough. I tend to go through the "entire" day without eating, grab something small for dinner then crash.

This horrid habit along with working out and my bike ride drains my body and had me feeling weak and groggy.

The Myfitnesspal App assists with holding me accountable with food /shake consumption.

It send me reminders etc and allows me to see how much more I need to consume including what I loss during my workout.

If you didn't know, "not" eating can make you gain and sustain weight as well.

Right now I'm mapping out a 4000 calories/260g protein diet, it's not easy and I don't what your goals are but one trick I do to help up my calorie/protein intake is throw 2 or tbsp of chia seeds on everything, from rice to pasta to smoothies oatmeal salads everything they stick to the food for the most part and don't taste like anything and are one of the best things you can put in your body, you'll notice a change in energy especially if you get them in before that bike ride

Chest day, a day after I just went through a laser tattoo removal treatment on my chest, my whole chest feels like it's melting off and I just had to poke 8 blisters with a needle so they can drain, but you know what they say no pain no gain
