Did ur lower back ever get swollen/sore doing swings

It's a hip hinge. Has nothing to do with your lower back. Hip hinge = maximal hip bend, minimal knee bend.

That sounds like how i did my swings...is that bad form/technique

No homo and several pauses in advanced.....

If you're having this issue, you may wanna do some deep squats with the kettle bell to warm up. It will help you make mind muscle connection to squeezing your butt muscles so that when you switch to the swings you can fire your butt hard for the hip hinge.

Also keep in mind that your Lats do play a role. If you allow your Lats to relax you will do more literal swinging the bell up instead of relying on the momentum from hip hinge to bring the bell up. Even if your hip hinge is perfect, this will make your lower back tired. Video explaining how to train your Lats in the swing in the spoiler.

Keeping your butt and Lats tight keep stress off of your lower back.....(the same applies to all forms of barbell deadlifts and bent over barbell rows)

What's up guys...this is my first time in here...I think.

Anyways...I'm a pretty lean dude (not super skinny I got some meat on me) and I'm trying to get some lean muscle. (Not outrageously big...more like how basketball players are).

What type of muscle building workouts do you guys find to be effective. I've been researching health related benefits of working out and I'm just now realizing that lifting weights and sprinting are better for your metabolism than just running miles and doing a lot of cardio (which is what I normally do). From a diet perspective I think I'm pretty good (I try to eat grilled chicken for protein and all of that)...but as a naturally skinny dude I've always struggled with the weights.

I'm half tempted to just stick to being skinny...

Hey y'all does an ab wheel help at all I've never used one?

Yes it does... IF YOU EAT CLEAN.

Eating is nearly 70 % percent of your results. No matter how long how hard and steady you train an unhealthy diet will hinder at minimum , nullify your workouts most of the time ESPECIALLY THAT BELLY REGION.

I am a skinny dude well was a skinny dude until I changed my life to the gym. Now I am ripped. Great thing about us skinny dudes is that we are right around the corner from being fit. All it takes is consistency & determination. The workouts I do is pushups (about 340 reps in 20 minutes), @Mastery put me on to the Ab Wheel last year, so I do that. @SimptimusLEMZUS put me on to the kettlebell, I do the an swing with them. I do leg lifts, bench press (about to graduate to 100 next month). I lift light but I gradually increase on the bench press. Dumbbell curls, dumbbell shoulder presses. Whenever I can then I'll take some 7-8lb dumbbells & roll with them to increase hand speed. Give yourself about 3 months & your body is going to start shifting

depend on what you mean by work

in my limited use, it will definitely work those weaker muscles in your core before you start to see any results in your abs. I would rather have a rock strong core tbh b/c of balancing/stability issues, but a nice decent visible pack would be nice too

but you def gon have to start out crazy slow if you've NEVER done this before. Im talking maybe once a week in the initial beginning b/c you will be super sore

Keep it extremely simple.

If you wanna work out with weights...

Squat

Bench Press

Deadlift

Overhead Press

Row or Pull-up

.....Get the form down first and the weight will come

Look up novice strength training programs online. The muscle will come as a side effect of the training.

If you don't want weights.....

Pull-up/Chin-up

Dips

Push-ups

Glute Ham Raises

Kettlebell swings, weighted vest stair climbing, sled push*

*youll still need some sort of weighted resistance for your legs.

gott get my abs in order :s im noticing a pudge maybe its just me

It's probably from your point of view. You on the inside looking out & trying to look back in. At times I questioned my physique (chest & abs) until I'll ask a chick & they'll say that they are well defined.

I need an arm routine. My shit sick n flabby.

all you need in order

To tone

Have some lean muscles

Firm buttocks

Tight thights

Abs

Is 200 kettlebell swings a each two days. Buy a 12 kg or 16kg kettlebell.

Eat healthy fats like

Eggs

Cheese

Olive oil

Colza oil

Soy milk

Eat your veggies

Onion

Garlic

Paprika

Cumcumber

Avocado

Eat your WHOLE fruits

BANANA

ORANGE

Eat your meat and chicken and fish but NOT EERDAY!!!

I take meat twice a week, chicken twice a week, fish twice a week.

Reduce the carbohydrates to 10 % of your daily intake.

If your body is not toned, if your fat is not hoghly reduced ill pay you back your kettlebell spendings.

Its been nearly two months i havent been to the gym.

@Mastery 's kettlebell challenge has provided me with some lean muscle gains.

And i eat less than 2000 calories a day!!!

Word lol. im currently on a sweets rush for like last week and i dont give a shit smh lol.

Ive come to the conclusion im just not in to eating as healthy as i should/could be. I love all types of food and ill just work out harder to maintain. Ive been doing fairly well so far.

For breakfast i eat

5 eggs with broccoli, some garlic and cheese

Or

Half a liter of soy milk

Before lunch

A banana and an orange

Or

Tomatoes

At lunch

3 french cheese toasts with meat a

Or fish or chicken

Or

Meat with cheese

The afternoon

A hand of tomatoes

Or

Banana and orange

Evening

An avocado, an onion, a paprika , some sauce and thuna

As you can see @BoyPussy the carbs have a little place in my diet. The effect:

My body runs on FAT. The little carbs is for the brain function and glucose storage.

I got more energy at disposal. Im my own FAT BURNER.

I spend less on eating.

My body is efficient. It functions well with less.

I eat tasty food, i have food diversity. Good buy the depressing rice /pasta/meat/chicken/broccoli regiment. Goodbiye protein shakes. Goodbuye fat burners.

Fat is cheaper. Fat got way less insuline response than carbs.

Give it a try.
