a person that is not dominate nor submissive. Not an alpha nor a beta.

the person wont be dominated or walked over.but knows when to be humble and ask questions.

They dont want to lead but also dont want to follow. but will do what the situation asks for.

a person who subconsciously steps up to the plate when need be,but is not always trying to dominate.

and knows when to step back and allow someone smarter or more experienced to step forward, but is not being submissive. they look at it like they are gathering information.

Oportunist

can someone help me understand this.

my understanding is that an opportunist: noun: opportunist; plural noun: opportunists

1.

a person who exploits circumstances to gain immediate advantage rather than being guided by consistent principles or plans.

i am not following how you can get opportunist from what was described

I have a question now....

With those definitions that were posted and their relation to the Greek alphabet...

Are these character traits that are pushed by black fraternities in college? I never understood why they adopted the Greek theme anyway when everything it stood for was a carbon copy of "black" culture anyway, but that's besides the point.

No.

Hieroglyphics don't look dope on hoodies

Sounds like a follower who doesn't want to be labeled a follower because they don't want to appear weak.

You ever notice how no one proudly says they're a follower.

I don't know if there is such a word to describe that. Since Y'all brought the Greek terminology, What about the Trinity?

Not Jesus ofcourse

Definately not God

The Holy Spirit maybe, I have no idea where it stand. Yeah I would go with that

so your saying that you have to be one or the other?

you can't just be flexible an adapt accordingly without being a follower.

because they observe the situation, and if it's working well, they make the most of the opportunity given, and operate without much objection,

if there's something that can be improved , they quickly step in and resolve the issue....basically they are fluid to the path of least resistance to accomplish their goal....

How can someone be awesome when they don't want to lead? They just stand around and wait to be told what to do. Sounds wishy washy.

How can you possibly think that someone must either want to dominate others or submit to them?

You can't have a leader without a follower so what I don't understand is how people can expect someone to not mind being a follower when being a leader is the desired thing to be. Why would you want them them to accept what you or other people wouldn't?

I'm sure there are some circumstances when 'leading' someone doesn't involve any lack of empathy for them but what usually comes to mind when people talk about being a 'leader', 'assertive' etc. is someone who's willing to dominate other people against their will, and not just for paternalistic or other 'greater good' reasons, so I don't see how the pro-'leader' people aren't promoting a social hierarchy or why they don't see anything wrong with this. In order for you to play the desirable role someone else has to play the undesirable role.

when his father was in charge, he saw no need to get involved.....everything was good

when sonny was in charge....he saw an opportunity to help stepped up and took it...

when sonny died, it was left on him to step up again......

once shit was good again, he kept trying to take the oppertunity to get out......but they kept pulling him back in

There's such thing as a false dichotomy. An example of a false dichotomy is when you say that a person can only be a leader or a follower and there's no in between. A false dichotomy is when everything is either black or white, up or down. left or right. No middle ground.

Type A personality traits

Type A personalities are competitive, high achievers and have a high sense of time urgency. As a result of these combined traits Type A's are always found to be busy working on their own projects. Type A's felt insecure at one point of their lives and so they decided to fight the insecurity by changing their lives and making achievements as fast as they can.

Type B personality traits

Type B's are the opposite of type A's. They are relaxed, laid back and not easily stressed. While type B can be achievers too still they won't be as competitive as Type A's. Tybe b can delay work and do it in the last moment, some of them can turn into procrastinators which is something that a type A can never do.

Type C personality traits

Type C personalities love details and can spend a lot of time trying to find out how things work and this makes them very suitable for technical jobs. Type C are not assertive at all and they always suppress their own desires even if there is something that they dislike. The lack of assertiveness results in tremendous stress and sometimes in depression. Type Cs are very vulnerable to depression compared to type A and type B.

Type D personality traits

D stands for distressed, Type D's have a negative outlook towards life and are pessimistic. A small event that is not even noticed by type B can ruin type D's day. Type D might become socially withdrawn as a result of fear of rejection even if they like to be around people. T

Type D's are famous for suppressing their emotions and this makes them the most vulnerable type to depression. In my book, The ultimate guide to getting over depression i said that one of the famous causes for depression is suppressing your emotions for long periods of time without venting them someway.

I genuinely hate psychology and all of the personality type theories that it produces.

The vast majority of people show a mixture of all of these traits to some degree at some point in their lives.

Type C are not assertive at all and they always suppress their own desires

Nobody ever suppresses their strongest desire at any given moment. The strongest desire you have is the one that pushes you to behave the way that you do, even if it conflicts with other weaker desires you have. If someone wants to see X movie but their friend wants to see movie Y and they go with their friend's choice it's because their desire to please their friend, avoid a confrontation etc. is stronger than their desire to see their personal choice. They're not doing something that they don't want to - at least relative to some goal that's indirectly achieved by their doing something they wouldn't ideally want to and what their other options are in that situation. Nobody ever does what other people want "instead" of what they want.
