Man, this topic really is showing me how different people's tastes are. That verse you put up is definitely nothing special. Really don't understand how you figure that's better than the Lo verse you're responding too. Half that verse is filler. Like I said before, with Cee Lo, every line has distinct meaning and says something. With the verse you put, half of it just reiterating the same point in the same way taking up space. That's not impressive. If Cee Lo drops a 16 line verse, every line is going to be distinct and still connected to the main point. In the style that you're referencing, four of those lines will state that point, the other 12 will really just be clever ways of reiterating the same thing. I'll admit sometimes it sounds cool, but when you analyze it, the verse is mostly fluff.
And I'm glad to see people addressing that Silk comment because I have no idea where buddy came from with that. I can't think of one song where Cee Lo sounded remotely like Silk. Silk couldn't ride a beat to to save his life. Cee Lo has only lost a beat in one song that I can recall and it was intentional and he referenced the fact in the rhyme.
