there is no doubt that the south has fallen off. the og's set us up for greatness and new niggas fucked it up. my only issue is how niggas wanna highlight the south's bullshit and not their own. keep it real. the east has been living off jay for too long now. and i go far enough back in the game to remeber when jay was just big's sidekick and he had to sit back and watch big get destroyed by pac. for the mere fact that jay-z was a sidekick and only recieved pop shots from a giant while watching his guardian get destroyed. for that fact alone i cant take jay serious. yeah he can flow but the pop culture media and dick riders have made him bigger than what he is. ny dudes have been ridin' his nutz for years. hell yeah new niggas fucked up the south. the problem is that the east is just dead. and the best cats back east like az, mos, and jada can't shine b/c niggas wont get off jay-z's dick. how many times does the man have to unretire before some new niggas step up??? come on man. the south is fucked right now but the east has been dead for a while.

Come now the East still is bringing heat. Slaughterhouse album last year was AMAZING and OB4CL2 is a classic in my opinion. In 2008 Nas dropped Untitled and that was a solid album. The East isn't dead, just lazy right now. Prodigy will drop a classic with Mobb Deep once he gets out of jail and he'll save the game >.> But really son, what about Mos Def's - The Ecstatic thats a classic right there too. It's not 1993, but then again the whole rap game is down.

Edit: I do agree with you about Jay he's that 40yr old starter who won't let the rookies play.
