i nod my head to the beat almost instinctively

but then the poet talks about how he's forced a woman to fuck for money

and then forced her to give him 100% of the profits

the comedy reply is "lol of course she gave him 100%, he's a real nigga of some kind"

so far, not a single reply has had to do with the only important question i asked

I cant make out the sample so you going to have to help me with that.

I listen to the lyrics, and theres nothing different about it coming out of the South. Theres nothing different coming out of the West. Mid-West, East Coast.......WE have been listening to, rapping along, and applauding, and mimicing these lyrics since the beginning of time. Should we feel offended becasue an Asian is spitting them? Truthfully everybody should speak on it! BUT...its an accepted behavior universally. Which is truly sad when you sit down and have genuine thought about it.

1. why you waiting for someone to tell you how you should feel?

2. do you automatically agree with how a so-called ballin rapper tells you how you should feel about their shit?

3. or do you almost unconsciously automatically agree with how a multinational media corporation tells you how you should feel?

this... is... not... enooouuuughhhh

its from a pop song from a few years ago

the beginning of time?

show me lyrics from a song from four thousand years ago where people were applauding the abuse of women.

note: there are plenty of bible verses, koran verses etc., that applaud the abuse of women. but i'm talmbout music.

Should we feel offended becasue an Asian is spitting them?
thats not an issue i intended to bring up.

i just noticed the shit more clearly when this mc articulated it here.

Ok...I see you didn't care for the metaphor. lol

My point with this particular part of the thread is this language has been perpetuated in HipHop for decades now. Thisa is the same reason you had women groups, politicians, Doloris Tucker, etc etc denounce rap music because of its negative content. Nevermind the fact that this stuff is and always will be a part of our society. Doesn't mean it should be exploited and profitted from. I'm mean even a self conscious rapper named Common Sense has used this kind of verbage (a lil more intelligently if you can believe such a thing) in a couple of his songs. As long as greed and money propel this kind of behavior, status quo will not deviate.

1. Have you heard of Jackie Chain?

3. Are you concerned about the unironic promotion of prostitution/pimping in these type of lyrics? And do you think so-called feminist rappers like Latifah, Nas, and Dead Prez should speak on it?

1. No

2. I don't endorse, promote or subscribe to rappers who glorify prostitution/pimping if women.
