And honestly, where do you think people like White Girl Mob learned to use the n-word from? It wasn't from Vanilla Ice, House Of Pain, Beastie Boys or Eminem that's for sure...

Fuck outta here with that bullshit...

no bruh, you get the fuck outta here with that bullshit, it's easy for you to say that dumb shit from Europe

great thread, i been said this shit. It's 'divide and conquer' you dont have to take it back to the 90s you can take it to 2003/4 where they started wading out the poetic lyrical street rappers because the guys on top where not the most lyrical and no time before that was it more blatant.

now we have this mess, i called out Jay and Kanye for making 'black is wack' with all their euro talk and feminine ways, i saw on page 1 this dude from odd future in a dress and he gets the terry richardson supreme clothing mixing that black and proud is wack and skateboard emo horrorcore hipster shit is cool.

Its not about gangster rap its about 'rap' period these dudes are just rhyming words aint saying nothing of note and are not poetic, you have to be lyrical and lyrical is poetic.

Kanye gave birth to kid cudi, drake, big sean, bob, etc

eminem gave birth to future kids, etc

Jay gave birth to 'i dont rap i count stacks' etc etc ........... these are hiphop's top 3 (and lil wayne) but lil wayne is now a punk rocker skateboarder.

100% right and its because hiphop audience dont ask for more, some mediocre shit pops off and you praise it like christ is here. all the new nas tracks are wack, the new jay andre 3000 jeezy track is wack (if not wack then less than average)

They made black wack, and White Girl Mob are making black cool. V-Nasty dont act like a euro pompous to good to be from the struggle, Kreashawyn is happy to be known as a rapper.

+

Its all the audience fault, when i made threads highlighting this shit they called me a hater and etc, but why did the odd future dude brick and still get a VMA ?

shit is easy to see, me i dont listen to new shit unless they earn their place that way its not about hype he/she earned it.

The picture H-Rap put on the first page sums hiphop to its core, and funny thing is eminem is more hiphop than these cudi, kanye types because he is proud to be a RAPPER.

niggas said kanye transcends hiphop but whats wrong with just been one of the illest rappers of all time, niggas scared to stand next to hiphop these days. all following Jay into let me get white media loving me.

Only people in New York give a fuck about Vado. Im from there (20 years born & raised) and I still dont give a fuck about him. And yeah, gangsta rap as we knew it is over. The only way you'll see it back in full force is if the crack epidemic of the 80's gets a sequel.

NY needs to adapt to the changing times if it wants to maintain the throne as the mecca of hiphop.

Shit is whack.I think these labels have an agenda trying to soften up hip hop by bombarding it with crackers and softbody negroes.

Example:Wtf is a mac millers, her corny and weird.Yet he pushed an insane amount of units but jeezy,50 cant get an album out?

What is yellawolf and machine gun kelly ?they sound like gimmick rappers. Now you got the white girl mob thinking its cool to say nigga. How long before all these white rappers and kids in real life start saying niggas?

On to the weirdo black rappers,Asap Rocky...dont nobody fuck with that boys music up here?Uptown they listening to max b,vado, french and dip associated rappers past or present.Aint nobody listening to that weird ass boys music.

I think its an agenda to get rid of streetlevel rap/gangsta rap from the mainstream once and for good.Every six seven years they try that.Remember hyphy?

I think its good its making it cool to be yourself, im suprise paukl you so critical of AA

culture and now you upset that blk culture going in a more positive direction

gangsta rap has played out anyway tho..

I think the correct term is "reality" rap...gangsta's don't rap. If they do then they're studio gangstas.

Smh @ the corporate heard trying to play out reality rap. That shit will never play out.

There exists difference between being gangsta and being masculine the new music is soft it's as simple as that. Those of us who remember when it was hard know what i'm talking about

It's the feel of the music and how it's presented to the people, it's no longer authentic and alot of this fake shit has happened because people who don't have any connection with the roots of hip-hop have negatively influenced it. White people and suburban dudes have more money so things are now geared to them.

Bruh, I'm not stupid, You wrote, "Stay black bruh" which is cool and then proceeded to put "lol" after. That to me came off as a jab inferring I was somehow acting white.

Stop playin, You was throwin shots nigga

I put LOL after everything on this bitch nigga. Noticed you threw shots b4. But thats irrelevant. For me, its all love. I like going back and forth but to call a nigga a name cause he aint liking or looking at shit the same you do is some punk shit bruh. Shit went from white boys/black backpackers to comparing street vs gangsta rap. At least it can still be talked about today, which means it aint really dead.

I laugh at the homie who said Black power type dudes need to shut up.... Man....... that type of shit just makes us look bad. Its like brothers forget the struggle that we still facing everyday. Mac Miller and Yelawolf and Eminem and all them dudes man.... Those dudes aint been through nothing. Em came up kinda bad I guess, Yelawolf might've been in them trailer parks, but the rest of them dudes aint been through shit. Rap used to be the voice of the streets/black life/urban life, just like how Country was for the trailer parks/white america. Same with rock somewhat too. Hip Hop in latter years has just been a means of conformance, fabrication, and a horrible representation of black culture. Theres a shortage of street poets, gangstas with lyrical music, or street related hardbody shit. I dont think that's a good thing for the music. And dude who said it's moved onto to positive shit? Come on now, a bunch of white rappers who mostly aint got skill selling more records than the brothers who make good ass music? Theres a problem there. But its not even the artists fault. Its the general public. The general public consumes what the industry gives them. Whats positive about Odd Futures music? Whats positive about Wiz Khalifa shit? That Black Power/Revolution shit is more positive than all of that shit. The gangsta rap is positive only cause of the fact a nigga been through hell and back, and now a nigga making music and telling his story. I mean street/gangsta shit to me it's all relative. Someone mentioned Slaughterhouse and them dudes spit some hardbody shit and consider themselves i'm sure gangsta rappers.

And 50/Mobb Deep? Them niggas all still make good ass hardbody music. Prodigy EP was some good shit. 50's tracks over the last year and BISD was good shit. I mean, cats just sleep on these dudes cause they been around so long and might've had one or two weak efforts(in 50's case he had Curtis, which was utter trash). I dont know, it seems like niggas just move with the times instead of with the actual music. I might be wrong, but it seems like that to me

I cosign this...I gotta cosign everything said here. The music feels manufactured and it's definitely some soft shit. All these cats sound like Kanye/Drake/Eminem/Wayne clones and they rap about what they think they're supposed to rap about. No one's original anymore. I believe this all started in Atlantacuz they got the most trend following faggots in the country

And Truegod fuck you nigga..You're too stupid to realize that we mostly agree on the direction that hip hop took. I called you out for that "Stay black bruh lol" though, and now you wanna cop pleas talkin bout you say lol after everything. Stop bullshittin. Fuck I look like getting mad cuz you don't like an artist I like? I already told you I respected your opinion. You started that shit. Me calling you superficial wasn't no jab, that's just how you perceived it

I cosigned a lot of what some people are saying. I been saying this shit. This is something I posted on another site. My main concern is this: We all know Hip Hop started as the voice of the ghetto, a medium of the overlooked members of society to be heard. Of course you had the light-hearted dance songs & what not but there was balance & the foundation/roots remained intact. Now in an age when rapping is a career its far less authentic, you have a corporate takeover & their interests lie in the almighty $dollar$. The once prevalent voice of the struggle is being pushed to the background in favor what’s hip. Hip hop is slowly making a transition to a new form of “Pop”. I like to use country music as an example. It takes its roots from blues(once a voice of our people) but they stay true to their roots as down home southern music for “good ol boys/gals” they still talk about the woes that affect them as a people. With mainstream rap today that is not the case anymore, everyone has an opinion on what direction it should go usually with no understanding of the culture or history of it instead of the forefathers & original people meant to represent its portrayal to the world. In an age when anything different is cool & money, cars, & swag is hip pop – nobody wants to hear about problems yet they still exist. Other forms of rap have the right to exist it just shouldn’t be the main representation of our culture but a subculture. Look into companies like Clear Channel & why they own most of the U.S. radio stations they have the main say so in what gets played... SMH its like the kids now don't know they're being programmed to accept certain shit. We moving away from our roots.
