The term "classic" is dead

20 years from now we going to hear dont like and "turn up"?

Nah

"Back that ass up" is a classic song.

This shit just ass

That's why I don't use the term "classic" anymore when discussing hip hop. I say "masterpiece". Beta my nigga but he's bugging calling Don't Like a classic.

I can understand how others disagree because the song itself isn't that great. I get that. But understanding what that song/video captured (which is the essence of what chicago was at the time) and the influence it had, then you can see where I'm coming from.

If you hear it 15 years from now you'll think of chiraq

I'm not even alone with saying this so it can't be a troll attempt...

Using your logic are songs like Crank Dat and Laffy Taffy classics too?

That's why I can't subscribe to the notion

You'd have to include so many garbage songs

Those songs had as much impact as Don't Like did.

Simple Definition of classic

—used to say that something has come to be considered one of the best of its kind

—used to say that something is an example of excellence

—used to describe something that has been popular for a long time

a : historically memorable

with that said a classic dont always have to be a masterpiece

culturally speaking ,Dont like is a certified classic because in 15 years when you hear the song it will represent a period in hip hop and people who then will be in their 30' s will still turn up to it and will bring back memories of that era ,its the chiraq anthem ,and the beat is hard as hell and its a DRILL classic ,every classic dont have to be deep and lyrical

like this for example ,its a classic ,but its far from a masterpiece ,but people my age will still go crazy over it in a club

Not all impact is positive, they had impact but it opened the floodgates for a new breed of wackness.

False. If they do. Niggas still living in childhood land. I hardly bump Mac Dre anymore just because I eventually outgrew it. I thought I would bump Jeezy's "Soul Survivor" until I died. I might play it once every other year.

Stay young while you can lil niggas. The grow up is real.

You bump kreayshawn still?

I liked Gucci Gucci and thought the bitch had potential. Plus I was also supporting the movement behind Kreayshawn. Her record deal fed alot of niggas. Stretch took her money and came up.

Kreayshawn advance paid for this.
