Naw, it means that relationship aint going to work out

maybe the relationship won't work out for you .. for whatever reason .....but it doesn't mean the female doesn't have good taste in music

So you have hip hop discussions with females like that?
Yes I have. I dated a chick that was a underground hiphop head. And by me being a DJ, she knew a lot of the joints I used to play. She also listened to a wide range of music, old school hip hop, brazilian jazz, house, soul, neo-soul and a few mainstream music. So we always had something to talk about plus she had a master's degree in housing marketing so she was smart also. We'd go see The Roots together or N.E.R.D. It's better that way instead of being with a person that don't like the same thing as you, it's too much conflict.

in all honestly took me a sec. to get into and than appreciate exactly what 3-6 was doin...production is crazy if a lil redundant it times

and to alot I'm what would be a "underground head" or backpacker.....whatever

don't like fleshly mainstream hip pop

but I find the entertainment value of Pat or any 3-6 fam as pure gold.

alot filler shit they released, but over-all shit bumps hard in the whip not to mention the they really come off as the local ignorant round the way niggas

my boy popped this track in the CD player years ago ...and I was sold

I don't require a female to be a hip-hop head, but it's certainly better than having them walking around singing Lil Wayne songs.

correct

personally my lady isn't a "hip hop head" but she understand and appreciated the value of ill beats and tight lyrics.

We can ride to over 25 DJ Premier produced tracks before she insist on me switching to a Jill Scott or Eric Roberson (both artists music I love as well)

most importantly she appreciated her man's "eccentric" taste in music and open-minded about me putting her on to "new" artist she may never have heard before

J-Live, Elhzi, Planet Asia, etc

I was attracted to a chick whom was into hip hop since she was 8 yrs old, and she's a bit of a tomboy.

There's nothing wrong with a female having knowledge about hip hop ... you don't have to get all deep in convo about it. But saying you don't want a s/o that likes the same type of music you do at all........ seems odd to me

I'm afraid I agree. A woman doesn't have to be deep into hip hop like the guy she's dating but surely she can have an appreciation for it? I'm into hip hop but I'm not about to start trying to have a rap battle a la 8 Mile with anyone. Neither should that be a reason for a guy to drop me. But the T/S is entitled to his opinion.

All this you just mentioned is what's up. My ex was like that, we'd exchange music all the time. Eric Robeson was just in the Chi a few weeks ago, "Res" is here tonight performing at this spot called "The Shrine" here

Smh @ the t/s being dumped cause of his love for gucci mane.

I would want my girl to have similar interests. Simple as that. Doesn't have to be exactly the same but similar.
