On my way back from work I was thinking that maybe governments have successfully developed chemical neurological agents capable of manipulating the minds of humans to the point where they go out and commit heinous mass murders. With each person infected with it, the desire for stricter gun laws and the number of unarmed civilians increases to the point where eventually no one has guns anymore and the government can finally instill a complete totalitarian government unopposed.

Of course there is no proof for any of that. Fun to think about though.

As simple and as bitchmade sounding as that is, yes. Humans work best within a community. When someone doesn't feel part of that community, they feel apathy toward it. It doesn't have to go to the extent of murder, but in cases like this it does. He prolly had some self fulfilling prophecy and thought this was for a greater good, or some Batman villain type shit like that. And isolation does not help with one's perception of reality, especially with Asperger's.

What's the difference between killing 27 people directly via shooting or killing hundreds indirectly via drug sales?

I knew a dude that was happy the first day he sold crack to a pregnant woman. Smh shit is crazy, he was happy he made a crack baby.

I honestly think psychological examinations need to include evaluations on the extent to which people are willing to put human lives in danger in order to profit/benefit themselves.

For one, the mom taught her son how to operate and be accurate in shooting a weapon, when she knew he wasn't all the way there. Then she has all these weapons in the house, and apparently had neither trigger locks or a safe to keep the ammo separate from the weapons.

I don't know what you can do though. You have these kids who are obviously weird, which possibly makes them targets for bullying at best, and at worst ticking time bombs. But you really can't proactively do anything unless they do something first.
