Watch somebody pull the nerve to blame it on the autism

people on tv are blaming anything they want to. from parents, to video games, to gun control...its pathetic

Parenting plays a significant part though.

what did this mother do wrong?

No way to know exactly without knowing how he was raised or exactly what type of relationship he had with his parents but I don't see how bad parenting couldn't have played a big role. Bare minimum his parents should have seen the signs that he was mentally unstable.

It takes more to raising a child than simply putting a roof over their heads.

i know

but its pretty silly to report, or really comment about her being a bad parent if nobody is going to give examples of her bad parenting. its just another copout. and unless he was diagnosed with something serious, then its pretty dumb to diagnose him with a disorder posthumously

How could she not be a bad parent? Her son murdered damn near 30 people. I'm not going to blame it all on bad parenting but to act like bad parenting played no role is a little disingenuous. And I'm not just speaking on her parenting prior to him going HAM but all throughout his childhood.

Out of curiousity? What do you think motivated him to do what he did?

some of the worst people come from the best circumstances, some of the best people come from the worst circumstances...parenting plays a role but its not the sole catalyst for shaping morals

Your tax bracket doesn't determine the quality of your parenting.

And you're right parenting isn't the sole determinant for your morals but it's a damn big one.

So we are going to be distracted and begin to blame in on the parents instead of saying he was a grown ass man that could have had kids in that same age bracket, that went on a maniacal shooting rampage... oh okay...

so his Dad making all that money, got married again and was breaking the moms and son off some 350k a year financial support...doesn't answer how active he was in the son's personal life though

Your white so you really wouldn't understand this cause y'all have this thing of freedom individuality and independence and all but,

If my 15 year old son is socially awkward and I see him in trench coats and rocking black day in and day out, Ima get involved. I'll talk to him, spend time with him, do activities, pay for hookers if I need too, whatever. I will break my son out of that. I will let him know he has parents that love him and slowly get him to open himself up.

White people, especially rich ones, don't take care of their kids for shit. "How was your day billy?" "Good mom/dad" and that's the conversation for the whole day. Kids act a little crazy? yes the morals instilled within at a young age has zero to do with income...I wasnt implying that it was...but if a person lacks a conscience of wrong and right...all the good parenting in the world wont mean a damn

i don't know but if you are going to say that evil children is the result of terrible parenting, then you also have to accept that exceptional children is the result of good parenting. and i'm pretty sure you realize that isn't always the case, and its never just that simple. .

the person at the head of the household still sets the tone and the example even if untentionally

And bad parenting isn't endemic to the white community that shit is killing the black community as I type this.

bad parenting + bad selection of mates

Parenting is not just about the roof you provide/the food in your kids mouths. the cozy environment you live in or your disposable income...

Its about knowing when you are wrong about your child.. accountability to show that.. instilling values.. doing more than just providing material basically.. and you can do all of that and still have an aint shit kid.. but parents have to do these things across the board no matter where you are from..and what your makeup is

His mother quit her job to take care of him. I still haven't seen anything to remotely show bad parenting. If you own guns and you have kids with mental disabilities or not, every gun expert in the world will advise you to teach them about gun safety. He was 20 yrs old, with maybe a mild mental disability, doesn't mean he had shown any signs of being capable of doing this. Any reasonable parent would never believe their child is capable of such violence. I live in the south, stock piling guns in not unusual.

Your white so you really wouldn't understand this cause y'all have this thing of freedom individuality and independence and all but,

White people, especially rich ones, don't take care of their kids for shit. "How was your day billy?" "Good mom/dad" and that's the conversation for the whole day. Kids act a little crazy? Y'all don't deal with it, take him to a psychologist who prescribes pills for kick backs at the drop of a dime and call it a day.

This has to do with bad parenting and that's that.

what if he wears normal clothes, but is an introvert, antisocial, and loves to be online and play video games. b/c if thats really the criteria then i'm sure half of the IC is plotting some sort of mass murder

Bruh you know what I mean. As a parent you know if your kid is fucked up and take steps

I know atleast three white kids from my high school that were introverts, no friends, smart as hell and dressed different, i.e. black trenchcoats. None of them has done anything crazy. Some people are just "weird". Im starting to think you can't really tell atleast 90% of the time.

i was going to post what lighthearted26 posted. i probably went to school with dozens of kids that i thought were crazy then, and looking back i still think they were crazy, but i dont think they've done anything crazy as far as violence is concerned. in fact, all the people i knew from school who committed some sort of major crime or who killed themselves were 'normal' people
