I think so - hustlin' backwards imo

nah i think he said he uses both sometimes....but i been usin FL since 04-05, the shit is dope, i was converted myself from a cheap ass yamaha 6 track recorder keyboard to FL. This shit upped my game because of its limitless possibilities...I chop all my records here, my drums sound better than most niggas with MPC60s...or MPCs period, i dont knock nobody usin hardware its essentially the same as far as choppon and sequences go, but you can take it a step further with the playlist, you can mix tracks down and shit....never used nothin else never will.

I'm not satisfied with the instruments you get to work with in the FL studio. Probably because I never pay for it, I always register some hacked version.

this was true back when FL only had 3xOSC and that wack ass TS404 shit, but its not really true now. Between Sytrus, Toxic Biohazard, PoiZone, Mophine and Sawer, FL XXL has some NICE synths bundled with it...

reason is tha' DEVIL, bretheren!!!

lmao, aiight, here's the truth about Reason vs. FL

Reason is designed for people that are accustomed to working with music hardware. That's why it has the rack design with the cords in the back and all that. (also why ReDrum looks like an TR-808) Talk to any experienced musician over the age of 40 and I bet you they'll like Reason but hate FL because it "seems like a toy".

FL on the other hand wasn't designed to be a replica of old hardware and midi setups. It was designed to be a COMPUTER PROGRAM. So it offers a speed and efficiency that Reason could never hope to match.

oh and back when Fresh Produce started, I remember a thread where some Reason user made a big thread talkin bout "You're not really a producer if you use Fruity Loops" and talkin all this shit about how Reason is for "serious people" etc etc etc. Then he said "You can't make something like THIS in Reason" and posted a beat he made.....

AND THE SHIT WAS WACK, SON. WACK AS FUCK.

so yea, It's the Pilot, not the Plane...

This too is true. FL's interface and ease-of-use can be toyish. I only wish I could get better piano keys, better kicks and snares, and some horns that aren't synthesized. I usually have to make/download my own.

I do seriously doubt that a FL user can consider himself a real musician/producer. However, this doesn't mean that Reason is G.O.A.T. For the best, and I mean BEST musical production, I always suggest an MPC, a computer and mic, and a soundboard.

c/s, FL's always had weak stock drums, Reason actually has a solid collection of stock drums, I used build drum loops on ReDrum and export them into FL. And yeah, FL's still weak in the natural instrument department. FL Keys is like a kiddie piano and badly needs to be replaced. FL Slayer and Plucked! can be useful, but they're NOT realistic. If they included drum kits from someone like SonicSpecialists and added an "all-in-one" instrument similar to Hypersonic 2, it'd be a wrap.

I do seriously doubt that a FL user can consider himself a real musician/producer.

mannnn that's like when Sarah Palin talks about "Real Americans" or when a Reason poster says a song he don't like "isn't Real Hip-Hop".

No, no, no, for the best musicial production I always suggest a Commodore 64, a Sesame Street See n Say, a kazoo, a cowbell, and a Roland CR-78 drum machine.

Either that or an Akai MPC 10,000 - it has a button that automatically makes your beats hot!

I'll tell you what. Post some beats. I guarantee you I'll destroy whatever you come up with. DOPE producers make DOPE shit. WACK producers make WACK SHIT. It doesn't fucking matter what is used. I ABANDONED my MPC which I have used for years and have gotten plenty of placements and recognition, so that bullshit you posted doesn't mean shit. Hip-hop is indeed wack, but not because of fruity loops. Post yo' got-damn shit - I'll be waiting..................

yeah I got FL Studio 9 Producers edition the shit is a beast

I'm still going through all the functions and getting familiar but I love it

once I add more plugs and shit I'll be good. I was using a Wave Pad editor for my samples and I just save em ship into Fruity.

Still getting familiar with the reverb effects and tweaking the sounds but yeah it's good. The drum kits they give you arent' bad either but your gonna need some different 808's and kicks IMO. I just found out you lay your vocals down through FL Studio so it's really like a baby studio.

I tried fl studio, and it sucked. The interface was weird, the sounds wasn't that good, and the sampling wasn't that good either

And for sampling, and true sampling, FL is a Godsend. For example, I can chop and cut a sample and be a makeshift DJ Paul, Kanye West, Puff Daddy ('95 BadBoy).

This was done with Fruity Loops, and it didn't take long at all.

Diddy don't make beats, he makes suggestions, add little sound effects, and slaps his name on the credits a "co-producer". The Hitmen made all those 90s classics.....Chucky Thompson, Stevie J, D-Dot, Amen-Ra & others

and how niggas can question FL's sample ability is beyond me....9th Wonder was pumpin out classics on FL version 3.....anybody who remembers version 3 knows how amazing that is.....no mixer, no native MP3 compatibility, no time-stretching, no audio clips, and stock drums that make the current FL stock drums sound like Dr. Dre's personal drum collection......

Even though ive moved on to reaktor, logic, and abbleton live, i still to this day go back and fool around with fl studio from time to time. i will always remember the easy to use interface and some the best pre-loaded drums around
