How is Eminem anywhere near a top 10 rapper based on catalog alone?

Hopsin wack as fuck.

And I stand by my previous statement, Biggie's catalogue influenced Hip-Hop a whole lot more than Em's shit.

Based solely on his catalog, it's like this for me:

Slim Shady LP- 3.5/5 (this album never really resonated with me like that)

Marshall Mathers LP- 5/5 (Em's classic and a huge step up from his debut)

Eminem Show- 4.5/5

Encore- 2/5

Relapse- 4/5

Recovery- 3.5/5

^^^ At most, that's maybe the bottom 10 of a Top 10. Definitely not on par with Nas, Pac, Jay, Big, Scarface, or Ghostface catalog wise.

Why do albums have to change something to be considered great/classic?

They don't..

if this was the case then 808s & Heartbreak is a classic cuz that shit changed to some extent and had a huge impact on hip hop..but u don't see nobody on here callin that album a classic..

Exactly

808s changed the landscape of hip-hop and opened up the lane for Drake, Cudi, and others.

So that album IS a classic.

You mean the album that kanye is singing over drum and bass beats?.

That's pop my friend

So because he's singing it makes it pop?

What impact did it have in the top40 genre?

What impact did it have on hip-hop?

I'll wait.

Those are respectable ratings. I have SSLP at 4, MMLP at 4.5 and Em Show at 5/5

Had diamond albums while he was alive where as Biggie didn't, Biggie never had a number 1 single either Em had more than 1 number 1 single Lose Yourself, Not Afraid, Love The Way You Lie, Crack A Bottle. Biggie never performed in countries like Japan and Korea where as Em has.

Hypnotize and Mo Money Mo Problems were number one singles. And One More Chance (Remix), Been Around The World and It's All About the Benjamins peaked at #2.

Biggie>>Emenem.
