just like you can control you rage, you can control your lust....

one could argue that murder is natural....it certainly takes place normally in the animal kingdom....but part of conforming to society is to resit your urge to rage out violently anytime you feel like it...

and while most people chose to resist that urge, most of us personally know a few folk who chose not to.....some walking the streets, some not

only difference is violence is punishable by law...which is why we find shit like boxing, and mma, and other forms of controlled violence almost as appealing as we find watching shit like porn......

something about those extreme urges that peaks our interest.....

while there are many people argue that monogamy isn't natural it's still a choice.....and people make choices on the most favorable outcome.....people who choose to be monogamous do so because they feel that is the best way to accomplish their desired goals in a relatinoship

Animals kill other animals for food 90% of the time.

Animals don't kill for fun.

plenty of animals kill for fun.....all the damn time

domestic house cats are notorious for this shit

You said plenty of animals but only gave one example

Surplus killing has been observed among zooplankton, damselfly naiads, predaceous mites, weasels, honey badgers, wolves, orcas, red foxes, leopards, lions, spotted hyenas, spiders, brown and black and polar bears, coyotes, lynx, mink, raccoons, dogs and house cats.

Ideally, I'd be able to go out and fuck someone else and women would understand that men fucking someone else rarely means they don't love or care about you. But at this point in my life, I don't have a problem controlling myself and not fucking other women so monogamy works out fine for me.

Y'all niggas also need to stop using the word "urge" like your a vampire or some shit.

A growing stomach or a dry mouth is an urge. If you don't attend to that you will die. A hard dick goes away on its own (pause). That said, a growing stomach is a reminder to feed it doesn't tell you what to eat, a dry mouth means you're thirsty but what you drink is your own choice.

Lets keep this shit in proper context.

The Iconoclast

I have been asked this before and initially I thought that I could be okay with my partner having other partners but I am not sure it would work for me. I understand that some men view sex as sex, love as love and can separate the two-that is all well and good if it works for them. I can't do that when in a committed relationship.

I am open to things, can do a lot of things, but one thing I can't do is be 'new pussy' so if that is what he will always need then it won't work out.

Plus you know how we Leos do....too much ego!

"Surplus killing is a common behavior exhibited by predators, in which they kill more prey than they can immediately eat and then cache or abandon the remainder."

That does not necessarily mean they all do it for fun

Anything which goes against ones natural self is considered "unnatural". To say that monogamy as a whole is "not natural", as often stated, would be considered just as false as saying that it is.

There are many who if we were to attempt casual relations or promiscuity, it would be a "forced practice" and in my case impossible as physical relations (for myself and many others) are in direct proportion to and an expression of love and having built a connection and foundation far surpassing the flesh. No different than the many who feel they have to force themselves to remain faithful to one.

The flesh is weak and many choose temptation and desires but it should not be condemned or judged so long as it isn't inflicting pain or harm on others. As long as an individual is practicing their choice with all parties involved being aware, then live as you choose to do so and allow others to do the same with the awareness that energies are in fact transferred and absorbed with any exchange.

Do whatsoever works and speaks to you.

Yes, I prefer the intimate connection and serenity it comes with. Other women add too many problems even if it's cool with all of them.

Yep, I see exactly where you're coming from.

Well said, I share the same perspective but thinking about it critically always causes me to reevaluate everything I consider a truth or normal. However, at the end of the day due to my emotions and ego I just can't apply everything I theorize about a non-monogamous relationship, to reality.

Maybe I'll change one day, I don't know but I can honestly say I'm firmly attached to monogamy.

Haha you're right about that! Leos ftw.

I wholeheartedly agree. Well said!

Nope. If I love you I'm not sharing.

My visceral reaction is always this and it's why I'm attached to monogamy. However, I have no clue if they will change or not down the road when reactance kicks in. Love is a volatile chemical reaction.

btw Pico, have you ever thought differently and/or do you think you'll ever change?

of course beta males and self centered females are gonna side wit monogamy..

why wouldn't they?? they probably came up wit the concept together.. bunch of bitter niggas mad they aint gettin no pussy and bitches mad cause they aint the only pussy.. i can see them all huddled up in a dimly lit room jus bouncin ideas on how to destroy selective breeding..
