Co-sign. Prodigy was dope, but a lot of the things being said about present-day Prodigy has always applied to him. Even in Prodigy's prime, he talked his way through his bars. He always had the free-verse style where he only ocassionally rhymed. To say he's lazy now because of he talks his way through verses and barely rhymes is like saying he was always lazy.

IMO, Prodigy kind of struggled through Infamy, Amerikaz Nightmare and Blood Money. I happen to think he reached his peak with Murda Muzik. It was proof that he could hold down an album by himself. Lyrically, I don't think he could go bar far bar with the greats. Yes, he's bested Nas once or twice on collabos, but album for album or song for song, nah. I still say that it's pretty contradictory to call Pac a non-lyrical rapper and then praise Prodigy as a great.

I can agree with some of the things you are saying but saying he talked through his bars in his prime and occasionally rhymed is what i can't agree with. I his prime P was nice with the wordplay and flow. Dude was holding his own with cats on collabs left and right. (He could never outshine Big Noyd though). I think sometimes we forget how nice P was because he hasn't spit like the old P in 7 or 8 years. I do agree with the first sentence of your second paragraph though. IMO after Murder Muzik the Prodigy that was nice on the mic was gone.

And to add, maybe it was just me but it seemed like his flow and voice changed over night. Its almost like he forgot how to rap.

agreed, and i been saying this since like 03 but i was hoping he just got lazy and would step it up eventually but nah he just fell off completely, i still rank P in my top 15 but thats from 94-01 P, anything else is irrelevant to me, the worst part is i know people that still defend him like he never fell off and come up with all these excuses for him, as much as a fan as i am of old mobb deep i still tell it how it is, he sucks and the next mobb deep album will be disapointing
