How Come There's So Few White MCs?

The talent isn't there and people operate on different wavelengths. Why do brothers feel the need to include everyone into their culture? It's pathetic. You don't hear people in Ireland asking, "Damn, how come brothers don't riverdance with us?"

The question is why do you need to listen to White MC's anyway?

Whites have already infiltrated and owned the marketing of HipHop music, virtually the most important aspect ... let that sink in

Because hip hop started as a subculture to give the underdog a voice. Its supposed to be about the struggle and be anti-establishment and most white people belong to the establishment. Nobody wants to listen to a suburban kid rap about how mad he is that his pops wont let him drive the Porsche

Chuck D said it best "Rap is CNN for black people" and the meaning behind that statement is true for every other country also. In countries like France, UK and Germany the most successfull rappers have an immigrant background because hip hop overseas is modeled after how it all began in the US

Random who this is coming from, but this guy got it:

"“I think rap music is the only vital form of music that has been introduced to music in a long time since punk rock. I would never attempt rap music. There’s no sense in it, the people that do rap music do it just fine. I’m usually offended by people like Vanilla Ice and stuff like that. People who really didn’t come from the streets. The white man ripped off the black man long enough. They should leave rap music to the African Americans"

- Kurt Cobain

And speaking of Chuck D, if I remember correctly Cobain went on to say It Take a Nation of Millions was his favorite rap album

We don't need anymore Eminem's one is enough. Plus Eminem isn't even the best white rapper.

What white rapper is better than em sir I'll wait and I hope it's not who think you may choose @genocidecutter

Slug from atmosphere

Ra the rugged man

Lil wyte

Necro

Ill Bill

All better than Em

I agree with slug from atmosphere and ra the ruggedman.

Slug is one of my top 10 favorite rappers tbh. He doesn't use a shitload of multis like em does, his punchlines and metaphors are creative as fuck, and his storytelling ability is on par with slick Rick and nas and other artists of that caliber. His music is pretty relatable to me and it's honest. When you hear him rap it's clear he's trying to get something off his chest when he makes a record. Puts a lot of passion into his raps and it's obvious the way he delivers it. There is only 2 albums from atmosphere I didn't fully enjoy. The family sign and to all our friends/blood makes the blade holy ep only had a handful of good songs, but every other release they have I love almost every song.

Ra the rugged man is slim shady mixed with odb. I think he really influenced the slim shady persona. He's just as good of a story teller as em, but his use of multis is on another level imo. And his multis make more sense than ems. They will actually progress the verse/story instead of the way em does it. Hard to explain, I don't know the right words to explain haha.

I'm more floored by that Asian thread in the op being made in 2014 and its about to be 2017

I feel like it got made a short time ago

There are loads of dope white underground MC's (vinnie paz, ill bill, sabac red, everlast, slug, eyedea, apathy, sage francis, brother ali, ra rugged man, aesop rock etc) so theres loads, especially in Europe...

So if you love lyricism and hard hip hop, you will find dope white, black, latino or asian MC's from all cultures and walks of life... But naturally there will always be more African American MCs because hip hop started in African American communities and dominates most of African American culture, whereas hip hop doesn't dominate the MAJORITY of white or asian communities...

But with regards to white mainstream hip hop 'artists' making it big, I think there are quite a few white MCs around, unfortunately imo they are mostly wack with the exception of Yelawolf, Ritz old Em and Paul Wall, but like someone said to a become major star like 50, Game or Eminem you really need major backing and a machine behind you, and the machine LOVES a story or background to help sell a rapper and for me how many times can they use the poor trailer trash or preppy white kid image for a rapper??? It gets boring... Thats why I think Action got a push because his image and story was/is different, a charismatic fat dude from the hood, so that worked for him but it helped he had a dope crew with dudes like Meyhem Lauren running with him...

Thats part of my thinking anyways...

You have to be crazy dope to get on as a white rapper.

You cant be a white "gucci mane" and get attention or sell.

White people dont see it as a viable "way out" so they dont apply themselves.

Because poor black people don't relate to poor white people problems

So they music really don't translate well.

In order for white emcees to make it. We as black people have to accept their music. And a lot of times we don't. No matter how nice they are.

facts but its even deeper than that because white people actually buy more rap than black people.Even white people prefer to listen to a black rapper because that shit is in our genes ,like someone else said rap is about struggle in the inner city and going against the establishment so ...and we just look better doing it lets be real ,most white rappers look corny doing it unless they are super lyrical, no racist lol

And remember Action Bronson? I used to fuck with his music with his similarities in rhyme flow to Ghostface Killah but then...

... he tried to appropriate and disrespect the Gawd himself
