Whats a classic jadakiss album?

There are none, did I ever say there was? Jada and Canibus are both in same category for me, good rappers who are terrible artists overall

He's dope, but his poet laureate style gets boring sometimes. He needs to go back to the punchline flow or mesh the two and make a new style.

His problem with casual fans is his subject matter isn't something most can relate to, and his vocab is too intense. Add that with the fact that he usually rhymes over wack ass beats and his voice is annoying to some, and you have the answer to why most fans don't fuck with dude.

Examples:

Yo, I plan to build a myself a facility before I'm 40
A molecular archceogenetic laboratory
That can analyze complex poetry data for me
Even if it was recorded poorly, how extraordinary
I frog leap over awful beats
Then I separate rappers by the carbon-14s
To determine the age of anything ever made
Regardless of how the outside surface has changed
I put a curse on your name, bombard your brain
With gamma x-rays till you burst into flames

Building a laboratory? Carbon-14? Gamma X-Rays? The average fan is thinking, "WTF is he talking about, what does that have to do with anything?"

With the scientifically quantifiable megalomaniacal
Viable style, it's like trying to ride a bull
Let's have a dictionary duel after school
Check into me a nice Cedar Sinai room
So I can get sick as the flu, spittin the truth
If you ain't got this album, you missing the proof

Dictionary duel? Quantifiable megalomaniacal? Once again, the average fan is thinking, "WTF is he talking about?"

It's "Frog leap over awkward beats."

Megalomania is an inflated belief in oneself, where one would compare him/herself to a deity or other worldly being that's considered all powerful.

Rappers do this all the time in their songs.

Obviously it was a copy-paste, and it doesn't matter if you in particular understand what's he's saying, most people don't.

People on average don't know what megalomania means? Most people don't know what carbon-14 is etc.

So in brief, when people say he ain't saying shit, it means the words he used in the song are foreign to them or his subject matter is too abstract. To most people rapping about building a laboratory and periodic elements is "not saying shit."

I get what you're saying, but are people going to understand every rap song they listen to right away?

It's not like everyone who listened to B.I.G or Jay-Z or any other emcees that mixed in drug slang, easily understood what they were talking about.

yeah, he got common on that track, nas(on the unreleased version) and nature were better on desperados. but that wasn't the point. canibus' catalog is trash, and he's only good when he's in pretentious battle rap mode. "i'll walk across the sun bare foot looking for shade". he's like a shitty killah priest. the difference between priest and canibus is priest knows how to make good songs/albums with dope imagery and concepts, and is the lyricist canibus wishes he was.

pretty sure he only raps in english though.

whether its big words or clever metaphors, some people's music makes you think. i don't think the majority like thinking music though. aint that why some niggas don't like lupe?

why didnt they?
its not like it was hard to tell what they were getting at or the overall theme of the song or topic. Canibus doesnt do that. After hearin or reading his lyrics even if u are smart you still question whether you got it or not
Drug slang is still about drugs and BIG,Jay,Nas even Ghostface leave enough context to fill in the blanks as an audience member
I and im sure a lot of people KNOW those words, but most of the time these arent words used in anyones vocabulary or conversation. These arent comparisons to anything anyone ever really thinks about. You already knew that tho. You may know what the words are individually but for a rapper to just be using them as if they are used by people catching the bus home from work or talkin shit playing 2k, barbershop etc. is naive
Those are fuckin spelling bee words where u find out what they mean but never have any fuckin use for them. Megalomania? the word arrogant suffices and gets the point across for most people just as well. Archeogenetic? most people are skipping the track after that

Just some examples:

Yo, yo

Your superstar status don't mean shit to me

Lyrically, sucker emcees still get fricasseed.

(Canibus-Phuk You)

When it's repping time, I get on extra grind

Fried to fricasseed, pepper seed to pepper dine

Jeff Hamilton, +Genesis+, leather time

Bitches say I'm the man, I tell 'em "Nevermind"

(Cam'ron-Get Em Girl)

I leave em looking bleaker than Memphis is

Without Roc-a-fella membership

Don't be an optimist, and try to rock with Bis

You end up in an iced-out sarcophagus

(Jedi Mind Tricks ft. Canibus-Tibetan Black Magicians)

So mommy best advice is to get on top of this

have you ever had sex with a pharaoh?

I put the pussy in a sarcophagus

now she claiming I bruise her esophagus

(Kanye West-Monster)

Canibus has his own style which is that broad vocabulary mixed with a battle rap intensity. I'm not mad at it. I personally dont want him talking about maybachs and all black everything, and swag, multiple Rolex watches models jocking him and the rest of that wack fuckery Rick Ross And Jay Z talk about. Yall know damn well that's all them "HiT SOng MaKIng" niggas is talkin about and Bis dunt rip so many mics tore so many mixtape DJ' s songs to utter sheds, Bis wouldn't even sound right talking about Jay, Weezy, Drake and Ross type of shit. I don't want that from him. The problem is some of you guys wasn't around when he first came on the seen. He had the same kinda Buzz Lloyd Banks had in 2002 and maybe Kendric Lamar have now. After the LL thing happen tho I think Canibus got Blackbulbed and since then things have been an uphill battle for him

^^^^^

With a resume like that, what words would people expect him to use....those may be everyday words to him, he cant help it he's on a different tier of vocab

I dont even listen to dude but i aint gonna call him wack because his vocab is bigger than mine (

Used to big a Canibus fan especially when he first came out. I even bought his first two CD's. I think his 2nd CD was way better than his first but after the LL Cool J diss he was pretty much toast in the mainstream world.

But anyway he doesn't make music that a lot of people can relate to and it does seem that he gets to caught up in trying to flex his vocabulary instead of putting out great songs. He forgot a long time ago how to make songs that the average listener could relate too. Kinda sad in my opinion because if he coulda figured out how to toe the line he might have turned out more popular

exactly. now how often is kanye or cam using those words to get their point across. And are they following it up by making another point or using another image just as large and abstract. Not hardly if ever

You forgot Jay's fricasseed line in Can I Live too

Why would they use those words at all if they're too complicated to understand?
