He's one of the most gifted lyricists to ever touch a mic. No doubt he may speak about some subject matter or use some vocabulary which may put some people off him, but to simply call him wack or all his material garbage is beyond me. He has some bad material, but he also has some great work. He's an underrated storyteller as well.

Since they repo'd your prime this shit ain't really fair

Losing his mind, somebody better set him straight

Lost Buckingham Palace, now it's Section 8

In '012 why rep that hard?

And who the fuck dug him up from Wyclef's backyard?

a dumb person can't understand a smart emcee...stick to the abc style of drake and wayne....like ghost said...you can't feed a baby steak

I was explaining why people complain about Canibus' style, not giving my personal stand on the subject.

I get what you're saying, but are people going to understand every rap song they listen to right away?

It's not like everyone who listened to B.I.G or Jay-Z or any other emcees that mixed in drug slang, easily understood what they were talking about.

Those guys don't have big vocabs, so it is easier to understand them. Btw what drug slang? I could understand if you said Cam, Ghost, or Rae. Their songs are filled with slang. I don't see it used in Jay and Big songs though. Also, you're forgetting the other half of the problem. The production he raps over.

Foreign words/extended vocab + weird/unique subject matter + wack beats + angry voice = lackluster career.

yeah, he got common on that track, nas(on the unreleased version) and nature were better on desperados. but that wasn't the point. canibus' catalog is trash, and he's only good when he's in pretentious battle rap mode. "i'll walk across the sun bare foot looking for shade". he's like a shitty killah priest. the difference between priest and canibus is priest knows how to make good songs/albums with dope imagery and concepts, and is the lyricist canibus wishes he was.

He's better than Killah Priest, and his catalog is trash because his beat selection is weak.

Canibus has his own style which is that broad vocabulary mixed with a battle rap intensity. I'm not mad at it. I personally dont want him talking about maybachs and all black everything, and swag, multiple Rolex watches models jocking him and the rest of that wack fuckery Rick Ross And Jay Z talk about. Yall know damn well that's all them "HiT SOng MaKIng" niggas is talkin about and Bis dunt rip so many mics tore so many mixtape DJ' s songs to utter sheds, Bis wouldn't even sound right talking about Jay, Weezy, Drake and Ross type of shit. I don't want that from him. The problem is some of you guys wasn't around when he first came on the seen. He had the same kinda Buzz Lloyd Banks had in 2002 and maybe Kendric Lamar have now. After the LL thing happen tho I think Canibus got Blackbulbed and since then things have been an uphill battle for him

He didn't get blackballed, it's just his album wasn't good in the eyes of the general public ... probably due to his subject matter and wack beats. You can't expect the fans to keep checking for him after two wack albums. You usually get one chance and that's it.

he might not use words out of context much, but thats the only way he can impress, with big words. he can't do what jay, nas, big, common, az, etc do. he's easily the most overrated lyricist, and h'se a terrible artist.

FOH thats like saying jayz couldnt slow his flow down ... FOH

Joey could rhyme his ass off, but he nor the members of Slaughterhouse will be able to do what Bis did as a solo artist.

That goes without question.

Jay-Z and BIG had better formal educations than Bis initially, he just furthered his while they chose a different route.

By the way, how is rhyming about crack sells "relatable subject matter?"

He beat Bis in a battle before, but his discography doesn't measure up to this point.

i have never heard a canibus verse let alone a song...he prolly dont be talkin bout shit tho

You're not missing much, he's a wack nigga who only rhymes about being an alien and eating pussy.

Naw the way he strung them together seemed natural IMO. Alot of times u can tell when somebody use a thesaurus because they basically explain what the word mean instead of just using it

He's a natural rhymer, like plenty others. What's wrong with reading a Thesaurus? When you read in general aren't you going to "learn new words?" Wouldn't that Thesaurus give you a heads up?
