So how accurate was season 1 compared to book 1? Did the show cover all the important parts? Like if i wanted to start reading it, do I still need to read book 1 or am I ok staring with the 2nd one

you dont have the read the 1st book but it wouldnt hurt. It'll help get used to the writing style and POV perspective. Most importantly the book offers alot more detail & motivations.
with that said I was say the tv show is proably the most faithful adaption I've run across to date

Nah dude was boring to me till he git his wolf to bite off dude's hand... still need to see more from him though

I thought i was the only one else not pulling for Rob dude bores me. His bastard brother is much more interesting a better character. I don't understand why you would want to go and serve at the wall tho. Once you take the oath your fucked for life.

depth like this is why reading the book can be worthwhile. It wasnt addressed in the show but Jon really had no other alternatives. He couldnt stay in Winterfell cause Lady Stark hated him. He couldnt go to King's Landing cause he was a bastard (the same Tyrion's dad wouldnt allow him to bring his whore). Jon really had limited option and the Wall was an oppurunity to serve the realm, make a name for himself and earn honor. Unforunately Tyrion was the only one to warn him that the Wall aint cracked to be what it used to be.

I thought all of that was pretty clear in the show. I mean none of it was explicitly stated but between the convo with Tyrion, the interaction with Lady Stark, and then the meeting with his uncle. it was pretty clear that Snow made that decision because he had to.

Okay, so which is worse? William Wallace was betrayed, but kept his honor. He was slowly tortuted to death, but never repented. Ned repented to save the peace and his family, but was also betrayed and killed. Ned lost his honor but his death was clean.

When they tortured William Wallace in Braveheart I almost shed a tear. When they killed Ned I was a funk the whole rest of the night.

And I think the Dothraki were a lot like the Mongols too.

Yeah, when I read that part I was like "damn that should've been in the show". I would've liked to see Ned and Cat "debate" about which kids go and which stay. Also, it's funny reading that Cat was the one who wanted Ned to go while he wanted to stay. That direction to me really shows Ned and Cat in a different light.

I'm about to post some excerpts from the book I think everybody should be FULLY aware of

For all the shit we gave Ned for being a bitch in Kings Landing, I have even more remorse for his death knowing that it was his wife and the maester that sent him to his death.

So not only did that bitch start the war by kidnapping tyrion, she started Neds downfall by talking him into being the Kings Hand. Smh

When that shit happened, I knew that it was gonna go bad. No matter how mad you are when you bump into him, you have to LET HIM WALK. Knowing Ned and the girls' are in KL, you can't put that on them.

Been thinking the same damn thing for the longest!!! He's either Ned's Sister and Rhaegar(Mad King's Son) or the Queen's first (and only) child she had with Robert that supposedly died and she never saw where he was buried. I'm really leaning towards your theory tho because they said that Rhaegar took Lyana(Ned's Sister) from King's Landing when everything went down. It had to be a reason he just up and took her with him and didn't just kill her right then. And from what I understand no ransom was requested for her either.

Fanbase been all over this for the longest, final horcrux style.

Peep Ned reaction when Robert ask about his moms.

Targaryan restoration, bitch.

oh and how about that musician performing in front of Joffrey huh? Think about that shit next time some nigga act like we ain't got Freedom of Speech in America.

Regarldess...its custom to announce speculation and spoiler alike

Sooner or later, somebody that read the book is going to cosign your speculation. Its with them that I have a problem.

Speculation.... come on mayne.... thats like a different word for an opinion based off facts that have already been presented to us. So you want everyone in this thread to announce *SPECULATION ALERT* when they present what they think might happen based on what we know from season 1? That don't make no since. LOL. I get what your saying as far as no one giving away Spoilers as far as facts from the books pertaining to seasons 2 and on but I think we should all be able to speculate or theorize what would possibly happen in seasons to come based off what we've seen and heard from season 1 so far.

That like saying don't guess what might happen cuz if by off chance it turns out to be right I'ma be pissed off. LOL

I understand. I was just trippin off you saying you pretty much want niggas to put up a *SPECULATION ALERT*. LOL. i just thought that was funny. But I get what you're saying. I for one have read the books but would never spoil it for anyone who hasn't cuz I hate when people do that to me. But it seems like peole get mad at me when I just mention that I've read them even though I haven't said one word about what actually happens going forward. So thats why I'm discussing soley from season 1 from episode to episode. And my speculation about Jon's mother is based off all the things we've learned from season 1.

lol your post be making me super nervous! You can say "in kings landing it never rains" and I'd think that was some kind of spoiler.
