This shit is some trap some think tank thought up and is now sending out to the masses. The fucked up part is, gone are the days of the good paying city and government jobs. People with B.A.'s are sometimes being looked at as having glorified H.S. diplomas. But it's one of the only ways to get any job, to raise a family on, unless you wanna stay in the teenage pay bracket your entire life. Sure there are exceptions, and those who are fortunate enough to know somebody who knows somebody, or were at the right place at the right time, but those are far and few in-between. And with the shortage of well paying jobs competition is getting stiff, you don't stand a great chance with a B.A. now, how well will you fare with a H.S. diploma?

I'm no conspiracy theorist normally, but when I hear shit like this I can't help but think it's propaganda aimed at black youth to discourage academia. It's called false credentialing, for most of the jobs people with B.A.'s and even some M.A.'s have, you don't need the actual degrees for. But the higher ups want to see that you are a part of the club so to speak, that means you have a degree, went throug the rigors of college, buy into the whole being in debt for the rest of your life mentality. The club is majority white too. So when a job says Bachelors degree required, what they are really saying is, we want a certain class of people to apply, and we expect most in that class to be white, asian, indian, something other than black. You can not like school all you want, I hate it, but unless you have a more viable financial option already set up you have to buy in.

It's fucked up, and by no means is a degree a gurantee of anything, but it's one of the only ways you have to at the very least break into the middle class, unless you have a great idea (ala: Bill Gates/ Mark Zukerburg etc).

you need a high gpa for scholarships, and if your parents have say an expensive

house or good 401 k plans even though they dont make alot of money. you can have your financial aid limitited

besides finanial aid packages usually have low interest loans as well.

no you don't....there's all sorts of scholarships you can get that aren't GPA based...hell go look up the Posse Foundation...they give out leadership scholarships that sends kids, upwards of 20-30 from certain cities, from major cities to schools all over the country every year...that pays full tuition for up to 5 years of school if you need it no matter what the tuition costs...there's one for you right there

There are some but spots are limited,if it was easy to go to school

debt free everybody would be doing it. I once got a scholarship and it only covered

1,000 dollars also its just not tuition cost, there are living expenses while in school

food housing.utilities.

and there's scholarships, grants you can get to cover those as well...i never said they were easy to get but there's plenty of them out there...people just don't research like they should...even if you don't get enough for full coverage you can definitely get enough so that you don't graduate up to your ass in debt...even with very little debt at all...you can get more than one scholarship and grant at a time too so yeah 1 $1,000 scholarship may not seem like much but you get 3 of them and that's $3,000 which goes a long way to covering books, room & board etc...have you ever looked at financial aid stats? The majority of people that are in college are on some sort of financial aid...very few pay for school outright...

college is a debt creation machine, just like mortgages, and credit cards. It is so unbelievably expensive and you'll be lucky to get a faction of what you paid out of it.

lol smh.......

There is nothing wrong with going to college, but there is something wrong with going to college for 4-5 years, wasting your time and money trying to get a degree that you can't use when you graduate.....

An educated person is one who has learned that information almost always turns out to be at best incomplete and very often false, misleading, fictitious, mendacious - just dead wrong.
