*HARD KNOCKS LYFE* The OFFICIAL 2014-15 ATL DIRTEE BIRDS THREAD

Drafted a RB(Freeman) last season. He got some jets. I'm guessing that RB coach was brought in to get him ready for Shanahan's offense. That zone-blocking & west coast.

I don't get what the deal is about the crowd noise. its called home field advantage and it's not like it worked.

hell sacramento kings used to have cowbells during their home games and nobody complained about it

Right now I'm in wait and see mode. The guys I've seen so far are not exciting free agents in my opinion, but I'm assuming Quinn and the staff have a plan for them. It's good to see they are addressing the needs on the line and at linebacker though. The only moves I've been excited about so far was the resigning of Antone Smith.

I like the moves so far. Two LBs that upgrade their positions immediately. A DE better than Bierman. Pass rusher in the 1st round is the 4 new starters on the front 7 that I've been hoping would happen for the last 2 years.

We signed a LG to replace Blalock(who was on the decline, overpaid & not fit for the zone blocking scheme).

We cut HD & got a younger, cheaper, faster & stronger receiver to replace him. Dude could end up being Roddy's replacement a few years from now.

I honestly only see about 3 weak links out of all 22 starters now oppose to about 11 for the last two years.

RT

RB

TE

RB position will be addressed in the draft. TE through FA. RT will be addressed next offseason after Baker is cut.

I like Coach Quinn's approach to rebuilding the team.

LB core improved

After the draft, pass rush improved

DT position already addressed last year.

Alford will be benched this year.

Coach Quinn improved the team immediately by putting all proven solid veterans on the field. Instead of taking the dumbass approach of our old coach and putting 2 rookies & 2 UDFA rookie on defense at the same time. We have an offense that win a shoot out with every team in the league. The only problem was we had two dumbass coaches(HC and DC) who was responsible for building the worst defense in the league & worst that I've ever seen in my life. That stops now.....

Coach Quinn already made this defense a top 20 defensive squad. Two years from we'll have a top 10 offense & top 15 defense.

I understand he beat a woman and that's fucked up but I still want the Falcons to get Greg Hardy.

Him and Vic Beasley or Dante Fowler at 8 and our defense is straight going into next season.

I think it's going to happen. Coach Quinn likes to have multiple pass rushers so Beasley & Hardy would be my guess of what we end up doing. I was just saying that I like the moves so far. We got about 23 million left. We'll get a few pass rushers.

They sign Hardy and I will feel 10 times better about moves we made. But I heard he is talking to Dallas.

Yea I hate losing Spoon too. Arizona didnt even pay him that much, the Falcons must have been low balling him like a MF. We still need a MLB, but Worrilow might play better next to Reed and Durant. My guess is we probably take a MLB in the draft. We also need a safety, I wouldnt mind them bringing Lowery back

Other than that I like the moves too. Just wish we had gotten one top pass rushing DE like Orakpo to go along with who ever we draft in the 1st round.

My best guess is our draft probably end up something like this....

1st Round: DE/OLB

2nd Round: MLB

3rd Round: RB

4th Round: WR

5th Round: G

6th: DE/OLB

7th:

Yea he should start. Lolo didnt get better at all last year...... All we need is something close to 50 catches for 5-600 yards and 4 or more TDs out of him.

They also signed TE Tony Moeaki.....

Soooo......

Here's my opinion on what positions we need in order of need.

LEO

LG

FS/CB

MLB

RB

WR

TE

We'll get two in this draft. That leaves only 5 positions to fill next offseason. 2 draft picks & 3 FAs. I'd say we're in pretty good shape for a two year rebuilding process.

Line of scrimmage in the draft. Backs can get picked up in FA

I agree that we should build the trenches 1st. I'm against signing a FA RB though. A good O-line can make Freeman or a 3rd/4th RB a 1k yard rusher. Shanahan has been making that happen his entire career. I'd rather that FA $ be spent on that pro bowl Cover 3 FS that we desperately need.

The bolded is what probably gets addressed this year and the rest gets put off until next year. Shanahan likes those hybrid WR/TE's types so that'll probably fix 2 problems with one pick.
