You making it seem like the one on one matchup is the end all be all but its not. Kareem was consistently more dominant than Hakeem. Averaged more points, rebounds, and assists and shot a far higher % from the floor while taking more shots. The only claim Hakeem has is the playoffs, where he raised his play considerably more than Kareem. We however can't ignore the title Kareem won in Milwaukee which was a great achievement, not to mention when Hakeem got the better of Kareem he was past his prime. Hakeem might have been slightly better than Kareem defensively but let's not also forget the fact steals and blocks weren't recorded for Kareems 1st few seasons.

Skills and post moves are great but the name of the game is putting the ball in the hoop, Kareem was flat out better in that aspect.
