Nia Long doesn't have white men banging at her door. She had to ASK them to add a white man to that cast. And it's not like Eddie Cibrian is some major actor. Let's just keep it real. I'll give you something to think about Sanaa Lathan did that movie "Something New". After that she has had NOTHING noteworthy until now. Now the white guy from "Something New" has had his own tv show "The Mentalist" running for YEARS now. I don't think it had anything to do with 'boosting someone else' tho. I thought it had something to do with making her character seem more genuine. Like she said, the reality is that black women date white men. I honestly think that people may be reaching with this conversation.

Not really the point. Those actors have all caught flack at one point or another for their choices, and they knew they were going to ahead of time. Meanwhile she gets to sit up here on an interview and explain away her suggesting replacing a black actor with a Caucasian one as "it's 2013, get with the program. Everyone is marrying everyone" which really isn't true looking at the numbers. As TBA said (from 10:00 to 10:40) one of the male actors pulling this same stunt would not be met with the friendly interview atmosphere here.
