Grammys : Eminem robbed in the Best Album category?

Don't call me "Shadyteam", I dig Eminem but I ain't Stan, I just thought Em's been doing amazing work lately. I'd rather be called Black Wall Street online street-team, Game is my favorite rapper, in fact I'm doing an online internship right now with one of Game's publicists. And so in the spirit of good P.R. I will ask once nicely if you'll stop being a prick.

After that I won't ask nicely anymore. It really ain't about race so keep whatever weird issues you got on that off my thread and we'll get along great, hey?

Next to TES, I feel Recovery was his best work. Look at it from a life point of view, he dropped some emotional shit. He drowned himself in drugs/alcohol, he lost Proof, he lost his marriage again with Kim. This shit wasn't a hip hop album about bitches, money, drugs, cars and bling. This was Eminem jumping back on the mic and dropping true to life shit, his life yes, but still true to it. There was maybe 2 or 3 songs that were filler.

Recovery was his best work since TES, the other albums are just strange play around content. He hasn't fell off, lyrically he came with it on Recovery and he dropped so much sick wordplay it's ridiculous. To not give him album of the year was bs, he improved a shit load from Relapse. Fuck, he scrapped Relapse 2 and remade a whole new album into Recovery, who does that?

It's whatever though, I never heard of Arcade Fire until Grammy night. I peeped them on iTunes and I don't even see the hype for an award.

And shut the fuck up about race, salty ass mofo's.

I like music from tha heart or with emotion and meaning but I just wasn't feeling Recovery that much. Good point tho.. I can respect that.

Dont know wtf an Arcade Fire is but I was rooting for Hip Hop either way. Couldve been a bomb ass rock/alternative album but fuck all that Recovery is a better album anyway.

Arcade Fire is the band that beat Em in the Best Album category (all genres) with their CD "The Suburbs". They're a rock band. I was SHOCKED that they won. Apparently others are too. All I know is I think SOMEONE got robbed that night.

Em's album was a lot better, and I don't know much about the others but what I have heard of "The Suburbs" is FAR from "Best Album Of The Year" work in any genre. The single sounds like it was recorded, mixed, and mastered in someone's garage, as an independent producer I was kind of appalled. I don't even think they deserved a nomination much less a win. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I agree. I wasn't a fan of Relapse, it felt like Em was fronting to me somewhat on the singles for that so I never listened to the whole thing, but I don't hold it against him, every rapper has a wack album or two. To hear him "on" again with Recovery on jams like "I'm Not Afraid", I was just so reassured...the man is such a talent, I hope he's rapping until the time he's 120. That's just me, maybe, but he spits from the heart and there really aren't enough rappers like him out there. I'm not a "Stan" but I sure will go to bat for Em and his reputation any time the haters are around.
