and the grammys is suppose to be a celebration of musicianship, a superior skill or artistry in performing of music . yea they may not give hip hop the respect it deserves at times but i didn't have a problem with spalding or arcade fire winning in their respective categories. they are great musicians who put out quality music.

i have more a problem with them continuing to slight artists like the roots, mos def, common, ye....and its sad that the miseducation of lauryn hill was the first and outkast's speakerbox/a love below was the last hip hop album to receive album of the year, but at the end of the day what is considered to be "good music" or the "best album" so there is no use in crying about the shit.

the one thing i do like about the grammys though is that it isn't run like a popularity contest and they do give a stage to lesser known artists unlike the billboard awards, radio, viacom, etc....
