God's Son vs Get Rich Or Die Trying

Both albums came out around the same time.

From my recollection there was just as much hype amongst REAL Hip Hop heads, but mainstream America was stuck on 50 Cent.

I'm voting for God's Son because he delivered EXACTLY what I wanted to hear; Grown man music. He wasn't rapping about rims on a truck or making it rain in the strip club. He matured and approached the album from the perspective of somebody thats been in the industry for a while rather than your typical NY punchline rapper.

Also, Get Down is one of Nas's better songs.

God's Son is one of my favorite nas albums.

GRODT is a dope debut album. A once in a generation debut. The machine worked in a way you don't see too often and 50 bullied the rap seen in a crazy way

God Son had so much growth on it. After Stillmatic and the 'War' the general consensus was Nas gonna drop a dud but the shit was amazing

Wouldn't be mad at either choice

Then, definitely GRoDT

If you would ask me now, GS aged much better

But as much as I like GS

I consider GRoDT a classic

chick told me yesterday 4:44 is being overstated, that Nas been talking about the same shit

It's the delivery, his delivery and flow isn't there

GRODT is a moment in time. And one of the biggest, and rare moments in hip hop where everything stopped. Album is a classic off the events surrounding it me the anticipation, it was a good album that didn't age well, but you can't duplicate the feel the time. 50 was unstoppable.

I'm takin GRODT in 03 but Godson there after, it's a good nas album, and 50 doesn't have the ability to make a better album than nas this side of Nastradamus.

Love God's Son but Get Rich is a mark of the time. 50 still had raw energy and it was just fresh. It's a classic, I don't care what anyone says. From the Intro to the last track it's a well balanced album from the commercial records to the street feel. Production was on point. You just never heard anything like it before. 50 was so unique.

GRODT was a classic album and so is GS. The difference is Nas is a superior mc that controlled the mic better. 50 had content, but Nas flipped his subject matter in way 50 or many other could never do. Nas didn't just make great songs. He put us in his mind set. A man who lost his mother, who had just been in the fight of his career, who was looking for peace.

Never was a 50/GRODT fan

Couple tracks i like on there

I acknowledge the impact the album had

But shit was never for me

As much as I like gods son, get rich was just too much

Till this day I've never head an album that had more bangers than get rich. Genuine hip hop is one thing but having an album where i know every word from every song memorized is something special

I love GRODT, but if I had to choose id say the diverse content on God Son gives it the edge over the mostly aggressive content on GRODT.
