the video was a response to your last post about light

Does it say that the sun is the source of all light? If it doesnt, there is no need for me to watch it.

There are many types of light, not just visible light. Short-wave light includes ultraviolet light, X-rays, and others. Long-wave light includes infrared light, radio waves, etc. Light is produced by friction, by fire, by numerous chemical reactions, as well as the nuclear reactions of atomic fission and fusion, which is what we think is occurring in the sun. Light does not automatically require the sun.

The original point was genesis is silly. We are now in the electromagnetic spectrum? To divide the light into day and the darkness into night require an immense light source. Its not like a volcano is going to light the world. These light sources that can light an entire globe are celestial light sources.

However it is fair to state that a reader willing to read the book allegorically or with extremely loose and broad definition of the words can make the story cohesive.

You have to, its written as an allegory...

Thats why ppl like the thread starter should just reconcile themselves to being atheistic. If you try to reconcile a literal translation of the Bible with hardcore scientific and historical facts, it wont make sense. Period.

If that's what you're doing, then you're just looking for it to be wrong anyway. All that's gonna happen is you will end up finding more and more "contradictions", which likely will have no bearing on the wholistic message imparted by the Bible anyway.

Its seems like people are looking for trivial differences just for the sake of creating an argument. Like, "how could God exist if this happened?"...

If you're asking that kind of question, then you dont understand how the Bible was written, are missing the point, and ultimately already have your mind made up. You're just looking for someone to disagree so you can argue.

Have fun talking in circles...

naw people like you just cant stand the fact that others have opinions that may in fact be right. you cant stand that what you've been raised to might not be the way it is

ask a damn question then

Lmao...

You dont have a general explanation of your thoughts on God, the nature of human existence, how we originiated?

Some general background on your beliefs would give me some material to actually ask an insightful question.

Jus give me something basic to start with, as opposed to "ask a random question"

to sum it all up, i believe 1 = 1 not 0+0 =1. if your as smart as your trying to talk you'd know what that means

I believe god created the big bang and there is more to this existence than what we can see in this universe...yadda yadda

some background materal look at the vid i posted a few posts down

There are different variations of light intensity, so i still fail to see the point here in reference to the original topic. But for sake of getting tired, im done for today.

I leave with this,

just because something sounds silly , doesnt make it silly, that just serves as a lack of understanding.l

I find it kind of funny that for all of your thoughts on contradictions and falsehoods of the Bible, when I ask you about your own thoughts on what you believe to be true, you resign to giving me a poor mathematical syllogism

If they are your thoughts then you should be able to explain them, at least as well as you can explain all of your objections.

So no, Im not going to watch a video someone else made to explain your own views on existential issues...

Again, Ill ask you to elaborate, in your own words....at least a general synopsis of your views of God as he relates to us, why you dont accept an allegorical view of the Bible, and why you dont believe your doubts can be reconciled with such an interpretation

You spend a lot of time asking questions, it only makes sense that you could spend at least a some time explainin your own views...
