I dont agree with that "we play guitar, they sample & talk" bullshit but i understand his point. Aint no different than when they try to add pop acts to hip-hop categories.
But Gene need to slow down. Kiss wasnt even respected like that by many rock fans. They were looked at as a gimmick out for money. They're more known for their wardrobe & make-up than their music.

No problems with what he said. It is what it is. But we definitely need our own hall of fame. It's time.
One of the many reasons hip-hop needs it's own HOF.
Ironically, there are quite a few people that don't believe Kiss is HOF worthy either.
To that point, I believe his opinion is based on that more than the logic presented. He can say "well they don't play instruments" but his real issue is that hip-hop artists have more respect in his sphere than his own band does...

And white folks get mad because we have black colleges and networks and shit, this is why we have them. I see what he's saying, BUT it's not like the same folks who are over the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame would bend over backwards or anything to help create the Hiphop Hall of Fame. This hiphop thing has been around way too long to continue to get the disrespect that it does. I mean VH1 had a great thing going when they did Hiphop Honors but they stopped that shit for some reason smh. I mean old school rappers don't get Lifetime Achievement awards at major award shows, the only time they might get acknowledged is when they die. I mean even on BET they might let a couple old school artists rock but they're barely giving them awards smh. I'm not going to shit on Gene Simmons's opinion, but he need to keep his band out of the RNR Hall.. He better say the same shit when it's time to induct these cheesy 80's hair bands too.
