That was gut wrenching to watch. And I don't need to have a daughter to know it.
I thought there might be redemption for Stannis. When they set the fire to Shireen and her mother started 2nd guessing, I was still holding out hope Stannis would realize how fucked up it was and put a stop to it. I still saw a sliver of soul in him.
When he held her back and reaffirmed he wanted it, all of that left. Every ounce of respect or tolerance for him vaporized. There's been countless rapes and murders on this show, and this still felt the most irredeemable.
There's been revenge murders, malice murders, callous murders, all types of messed up shit on this show. But this was the first action of soulless evil, and the first time a truly innocent person was the victim.
Saying that, that scene and the one dude being a pedo are part of what make this show so great. They pull no punches and give no fucks. There are no happy endings for anyone, and everybody who watches the show forgets it every season, without fail.
This show doesn't give a fuck about who you like or what you think is right. It doesn't even care who the main characters are. It's a created world with characters who have motivations people today could never agree with or understand. Everything that happens is realistic by the shows standards, and it offers no fairy tales. Your 2015 ethics and morals don't mean shit.
GoT is a challenging show to watch, which is why its one of the greatest to ever hit the small screen. The fact the material on the show inspires outrage, boycotts and even death threats is a testament to how trill it is.

Dayum @ Stannis..... that's crazy, his story reads like so many literary tales of treachery and glory. I don't have anything to say about that SMMFH. That man is forever changed. He's determined not to lose. Y'all surprised tho ? After all he did kill his own brother Renly, he did chop off Davos' fingers. According to the preview seems he makes it to Winterfell's doorstep with a vicious squad. Better hope he gets the Iron Throne now.
Dany and company were lucky, the Sons of the Harpy had them cornered and ready to get smoked out. Shout outs to Drogon. Now she gotta get rid of all the slave masters for good. Jorah touched Daenarys and he has grayscale, is it possible that she might get that shit too ? Otherwise, looks like he's in her good graces now.
That was rough watching Oberyn's girl bend the knee LOLOL. Even the sand sisters were like surprised. That dude is making a bold move sending his son into a den of lions. I think Doran is very interesting, what's his end game ? I like how Jaime didn't deny or say anything when she sonned him. But you could tell he wasn't surprised.
Arya's arc just got a whole lot interesting, same goes for the Tyrells. Not a good sign if they need to meet with the Iron Bank of Braavos. What the fuck is Littlefinger up to and what does he want.....
Curious as to what the other Night's Watch brothers are going to say when Jon and the other rangers tell them about the White Walkers and the battle they barely escaped from. That interaction should be interesting, they have to abandon the wall and go South. Even the army they have won't be enough to stop the White Walkers who are probably not too far behind either. They must have a way to take out the wall if they're marching to it.
They aint show much in the preview that's how I know this finale is going to be huge..... it's been a good season so far. I wonder what HBO has in store....

Davos didn't know what Stannis was up to. He always wanted to keep Shireen close to him so he could protect her. He made the same suggestion before they left the wall in terms of not taking her to war, before Melisandre suggested the sacrifice.
When Dany closed her eyes she wasn't warging or summoning her dragon, she was resigning herself to her fate. She thought she was done for, which is why she was surprised when Drogon showed up.
Are u sure tho? Wasn't bran surprised everytime he controlled an animal at first?
I think Danny has the same ability but only with dragons...and much like bran she has to learn to master her ability.
What's the point of riding a dragon u can't control?

In the after show on HBO Go the directors said that's what happened. I think the dragon riding is similar to a person riding a horse, but even deeper. There's a bond and trust established between rider and dragon. One doesn't control the other but they got each other's back at all costs. That's why I don't think Drogon killed those kids before. I think maybe the Harpies did that so she would lock up her dragons and they could get at her. Drogon was smart enough to bounce.
in the book it's pretty clear that the dragon killed a boy. It's used as an indicator to show how wild her 'children' are and pretty much implies "how can u tame these foreigners when U can't keep YOUR house in order"
I'm not gonna trip on the warg thing. I just see she and snow have similar trajectories. Both are uniting people as leaders..both are hubs for the supernatural activity on the show and both are protected by their animal companions who they seem to either be in tune with or control .
