you find it unnecessary, but others, like me, don't. Like I said, it adds to realism and characterization. Isn't that obvious? Is it really even a big deal?
You seem to suggest that things that happen in the show that don't happen in the book are unnecessary. That doesn't make sense to me. So the rapes in the show can only be necessary and validated if they happened in the book? So the sansa and cersei rapes are disqualified from being "legitimate" because they didn't happen in the book?
I think that it's been established that the show is partially independent from the books. You're trying to force the show to be the books. I think that once you look at the show as a work of art in itself, then these issues start to disappear.

That's very possible, but I see no strong evidence to be so sure about that. The fact that you seem so certain only makes me more certain about how biased you seem. Once again, you seem to completely ignore the realism and characterization aspect and the fact that the show is not the same as the books and hasn't been way before this point.
