Y'all think it's a good idea to start reading the books now? I'm worried it might take excitement away from the show.

Im reading the first one now... but im thinking I might have the same problem lol

I thought the same thing. The way I approached it was, I'll read the books at the end of the season to fill in the gaps.

Its also a great way to compare and contrast the vision of directors. When you watch the show and then read book , you really see the GENIUS of the show.

They really do a great job of explaining everything without being dull. And they know how/what to cut out to still keep you informed but not have you miss out on anything

I've read the first 3 books and IMO the show is still good even though I pretty much know what going to happen.

Even they way Joffrey where his fuckin crown annoys me........aint nobody to blame for how he acts but his momma tho. You can see she finally realized how much a monster she created after he threatend her after she smacked him. For the first time you can see she's truly afraid of him now....

I wonder what's going to happen if Gentri(spelling?) Makes it to the Night Watch, will they sill try to kill him? Normally bastards don't have a claim to the throne, but since Geoffry isn't actually the kings son..............

Nah that's still Gendry from season 1. They just been in the hills for a while that's why he and Arya look so messy and unkempt

That whole scene with Jaime and the direwolf was dumb though in the books my dude is supposed to be fearless. He would of probably spit in the wolfs face before looking scared.

Well that's what they did in season 1 but they added some things from the second book in there as well.
