Honestly you should start from Book 1. All the books flow together so some stuff that happened in books 1 &2 that didn't happen (or were changed slightly) in Seasons 1&2 will show up in book 3 and you might be confused. But if you really don't want to start from Book 1 and go straight to the 3rd....then just go to a site like this to get a rundown.

man i gotta leave this thread...thats the 1 thing i don't like about the show. you can't just recklessly surf the web for info because you're libel to stumble on some shit that spoils everything.. not to say you are spoiling anything, but just in case you are. i'm not reading. later.

Lol I aint gonna say nothing else. Just go read the books an have your mind blown.

A Song of Ice and Fire >>> Lord of the Rings, it's not even close.

Hmmm I don't know if I can agree with the bold. I think the characters are better, but when it comes down to it all depends on what you like more out of your fantasy. Political intrigue and treachery or a mystical and far reaching question. I'm loving the former as it is in this series, but overally I still prefer the latter.

i read the book after every season and i noticed that season 2 deviated a little bit more from the book than season 1. but if book 3 is all everyone claims it to be (EVERYBODY sayin this shit get live) i hope they dont change a muthafuckin thang.

Seen that they were gonna split book 3 into 2 seasons to get everything in. Hoping its true. Gotta make up for butchering Jon's storyline in S2.

Also, just saw that the first four audiobooks are up on youtube.

To each his own. I never got into LoTR, always bored me. I felt the movies were more entertaining than the books which is NOT a good thing to me.
