Aye fam I just edited your post and put it as a spoiler since it's sort of a Jon Snow spoiler.....

Good lookin' out.

I love the show, but I'm almost scared to come in this thread sometimes 'cause I'm afraid I might accidentally find out something I don't wanna know.

'Might have to start reading the books.

i was looking at a map and qarth looks to be a very very long way away from the kings landing area. I'm guessing it could be some time before she ever gets there

Westeros+and+Essos.jpg

If you look closely at the map, the Western side (the "island" looks like the U.K. / Scotland, Wales and Ireland....while the Eastern side looks like parts of the Middle East or Turkey (Quarth looks like Constantine/Istanbul on the Black Sea )

Dayum I didn't even know that was speculation, my bad fam but got dayum for a theory I swear that shit makes sooo much sense lololol. If you want tho I can re-edit the post and bring back what the original post was.

@ bolded.... Nah never that fam LOLOL I wouldn't ban a nigga unless they went bat shit crazy or niggas asked me to lol.

nah leave it in the spoiler thing because now that i think on it, outside of a few vague hints, they kinda left that out the show so it might be true and they dont wanna mess it up for TV viewers.

ive only read the first book and that was after i watched the first season, but from what i read it seemed like that was the implication even tho he never came out and said it.

Just read Jack Gleeson who plays King Joffery didn't get honored be HBO to be nominated for an Emmy. Didn't realize they submit options who the Emmys choose from.

But these are the categories they sent out nominations for..

Game of Thrones submitted for Best Drama Series

Best supporting actor submissions are Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Alfie Allen (Theon), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Richard Madden (Robb)

Best supporting actress submissions are Emilia Clarke (Dany), Lena Headey (Queen), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn), Maisie Williams (Arya), Sophie Turner (Sansa)

I believe I got those characters/actors correct off the top of my head.

They fucked up for not submitting Mad King Jr.

The article I got it from said something about being an ensemble cast so they didn't want to put Peter Dinklage in that category even though he gets top billing. Which only happened after Sean Bean and Mark Addy characters were killed off last season but also because he did win the Emmy.

agreed, Joffery, Theon, Cercei and Arya were top notch this whole season.

i love this. i love how they write with the ensemble cast. I love the contrasting families. But Season 2 was not fucking with season 1 storyline wise. Season 2 had a lot of moments. Bronn was the best character (in limited action) this season, along with Arya and Jaqen.

Did anyone else find it weird how they played out the hound's character?

Also what's the story behind the dude that watches over Daeny? Is he nice with the sword and what family is he from? Also whats his name

Also for anyone that has read the books, in the show it seems like Ned Stark is supposed to be the GOD when it comes to that sword scrapping shit. But it's also implied that Jamie Lannister could be the god. I thought Ned was giving Jamie work in season one before his squad jumped in. But in season two it feels like Brienn, Bronn and the Hound would body everything (Atleast until i saw Jon Snow body Qhorin). And then of course there is the old head who they told was no longer leader of the knights watch. they implied he was hella nice too.

So according to the books who is the illest with the sword?

The guy that watches over Daeny is Jorah Mormont. He is from the house of Mormont and he is a northerner(IE: Starks, Karstarks, Umbers, Boltons, etc.). Yeah he is pretty nice with the sword.

Also in the books Ned Stark is nowhere near as nice with the sword as he is in the show. He is a great battle commander not 1 on 1 fighter, if him and Jamie would have fought 1 on 1 in the books Jamie woulda murked him with relative ease. Also Qhorin Halfhand let Jon Snow beat him on purpose, the show didn't do a great job of implying this like they did in the books, Qhorin is one of the best warriors in the entire series if he wanted to body Jon he easily would have done it. Best fighters so far(that have been introduced in the show so far)

Jamie Lannister

Qhorin Halfhand

Khal Drogo

Robert Baratheon

Sandor Clegane(The Hound)

Gregor Clegane(The Mountain)

Barristan Selmy

Bronn

Syrio Forel(Arya's fencing instructor)

Now who is the illest out of this list is up to interpretation, but all of them are known as being people you don't fuck with.

Is there even a "lead" actor?

not really, but if i had to choose... ned was it for season 1, and tyrion for season 2.

im thinking season 3 arya or robb will "own" it.

it should probably be danerys but she seem so detached from everything

I appreciate it fam...also, we pretty much saw the hound get the better of the mountain in the show, how would that squabble have gone in the books?

Only person from the show that I'd add would be Greatjon Umber. Think Jaime said it was him and the Cleganes that would give him problems. And Lyle Crakehall, but not sure if he was named in the show or just some background extra.

yeah, i remember when qhorin told snow to do follow suit and then proceeded to throw him down a mountain. I thought that meant that they were staging some conflict between the two and that qhoran orchestrated the whole thing. I didn't really know why at the time and i couldn't even tell if snow was aware of it. but once he beat him in battle
he probably knew that his role is to somehow become accepted by the wildings and gain the respect of mance rayder because they made it a point to say, "tell him this is the man who slayed qhorin halfhand" as if it were something they've been trying to do for years

but thats speculation.
