Yes the director's track record is weak as I said eariler but that doesn't mean the movie is going to be bad. Nolan had no action movies before the Batman reboot's, Justin Lin's action resume was weak before "Fast Five" and the Director of Mission Impossible 4 has done nothing but pixar animation movies and from the previews it looks hard body.
So though again I won't cosign this cause part 1 was terrible, I'm willing to give it a chance based off the trailer and the fact they cleaned house from the 1st movie, that lets me know the studio realize they messed up. And for the record, nobody outside of Michael Bay and James Cameron are making action on that level anyways. Yea, I don't know if they kill off channing tatum cause Duke is a huge character in the G.I. Joe Universe. But The Rock seems to be one of the main characters though.

I think the first movie was OK. The character designs for Cobra Commander and Destro were terrible, also their origins were all fucked up.
The storyline was something from a GI Joe comic or cartoon (destroy world monuments with some super unstoppable technology), but the way it played out was sort of cheesy (exo-suits).
i think with him getting stabbed then falling into ice cold water probably saved his life. i'm no doctor, but i think the cold water constricts the blood vessels and capillaries and stops the bleeding
or Snake Eyes didn't hit him in a vital organ, which allowed him to survive.

This trailer compared to the first G.I. Joe movie makes it look like complete shit. I think the problem w/the first one was they wanted it to be a "A"- list movie and fucked up by trying to go campy "play it safe" didn't make sense to have Marlon Wayans in the first one at all.
